I'm not sure if computer tablets work as drawing tablets. I very much doubt it, you may have to look for a concrete answer elsewhere.

Glad you're interested in digital arts

Well to properly utilize digital software you would need a Graphics Tablet which aren't too pricey but they allow better precision in software and also measures how much pressure is being used. The pressure pad is my main tool when making art as you can probably see. I doubt you're making art as a profession just yet so avoid any tablet touch screen monitors and go for a simple Bamboo Tablet like I use ;D

But for good and basic software I would use Paint Tool SAI. A lot of tools, downloadable brushes and tons and tons of tutorials. I am currently saving up for a software program called Black Ink which is more proffesional and looks like it would fit my style much easier. Also as an upgrade to SAI I am looking into openCanvas 5.5 which makes it easier to stream and record what you're doing. You can find promo videos of these on youtube and there is a lot more software around on the internet so shop around and keep in mind what you want to do.

Of course you don't need those to create art. You can get yourself some nice traditional tools and do some watercolours or oils if you feel like it
