A new trademark for Paradise Dragona (楽園ドラゴーナ) has been filed by Pokemon Japan. It’s under the same terms as trademarks used for set names in the past.

The set will obviously feature Dragon-type Pokemon, not to mention it’s currently the Year of the Dragon. Perhaps it will be headlined by Hydrapple ex, who saw its pre-evolution, Dipplin, introduced in Crimson Haze. It could also feature Archaludon ex, who was introduced as the new Steel/Dragon evolution of Duraludon in The Indigo Disk.

Currently the only other future sets we know about are Night...

baby, wake up! new evolving skies is dropping
What's the correlation? Evolving Skies had a ton of Pokemon people actually care about (Eeveelutions) while being massively underprinted. The suggestions listed here are meme-y modern mons.

Off T reaction:

Japan in September or October?

^ As of May, the normal US schedule returns, or so they say, maybe not 1st Friday normal, but unless we come back to that for August, we, the fans, may have a problem come English street date, as we could see a Black Friday week set street date, which could mean, given the popularity, an ugly mad dash for cards by massive amounts of people, something that screams: "Unless you want to face the fast rushing crowd and the quick sellouts before normal waking hours, please move me to the preceding Wednesday?". Then again...

OT:

If DDE is reprinted in the current Standard format, it could wind up as the Energy version of Computer Search in a sense, as CS was converted to an Ace SPEC, but converting DDE to an Ace SPEC might also nerf ADP in Expanded, as you can't use the old Compute Search in standard since it doesn't have the ace spec rule box, so the same has to apply to DDE if converted into an Ace SPEC. Ooh, the future can be unpredictable. One thing could be hinted at, then retracted, or that same thing could be enforced. You never know what will occur... until it does...

Gotta be headlined by Rayquaza right? We're due for our Ray set. ?

Celestial Storm & Evolving Skies were both the 7th main set for their respective eras. Unfortunately this time it looks like the trend will be broken as the 7th set will focus on Terapagos. But this one will be the 8th set so it's not far off (if it really is headlined by Ray) and still keeps the trend of Ray being released in year 2 of every era since at least Gen 5.

The main sets which Evolving Skies was based were Skyscraping Perfection and Blue Sky Stream, which had Duraludon and Rayquaza as the mascots and were focused on dragon-type pokémon (since it was their 'return' to the TCG). By the name this set clearly will have a focus on dragon pokémon and likely the Duraludon evo. I don't know why did you ever think my joke had something to do with printing.

Theu could have a rule that the pokémon must be an evolution pokémon for it to use the "DDE-Ace Spec" the same way they did for Neo Upper Energy.
