1. Except that by adding product to the market they are bringing scalper prices down, so that's definitely helping the situation.
2. A retail outlet setting a price point is not even close to the same as scalping. There are legal definitions that differentiates scalping from selling, learn what words mean before you use them.
3. By selling at a higher retail price they are further reducing the possibility of profit for actual scalpers.
4. More product with a higher retail cost means very small margin for resellers to profit.
This is just more food for scalpers and "investors". Hence it won't change the market much. GameStop even admitted that they are scalpers as they sell "slightly" above MSRP.
 
So pretty much helping scalpers/flippers!! Now they know exactly which date they gotta camp 🏕️
I’m not a scalper or flipper, but I have Fridays off work, & with product so hard to find, I’m glad they shared the date, so I know when to camp. I hate that it’s come to this, but my daughter’s birthday is in June. I want her to have an SPC & I refuse to buy from scalpers. Anything for my kiddo!
