That sounds... weird. The thing is though, it's not actually that common here. When you do find it, it's really expensive and only certain parts of Canada make it well. :/

Like DOS said, you don't actually see too much maple syrup here. I've never really paid particular attention to it either, in honesty, so I'm not the best person to ask.

In Canada, it's like there's two separate entities. Aunt Jemima is just SYRUP. Other stuff from the boonies is MAPLE SYRUP.

Pretty much. I've seen as much as people in Niagara falls hotels get angry at the buffet for serving "American Sludge".

For some reason, there's a principal at a sketchy school in my area that I've dubbed Aunt Jemima. His name sounded similar and he's the principal, so I decided to poke a little fun.

Aunt Jemina? He can't be that bad is he? XD

Canada (Especially the 6) seems to have a lot of sketchy schools. As well as a surplus of odd teachers.

When there's a huge problem with *cough* sketchy stuff *cough* and it's going without punishment, I'd say it's pretty worthy of the nickname. He was also really boring. :U

Also, "American Sludge". That is the best term I have seen for syrup yet.

Geez, this site has a lot of Canadians. Not that that's a bad thing, I'm just saying.
