We gave this some further consideration after looking at the card pool for SV-on, and we decided we're going to disallow that era after all. The main reason is that those cards haven't had a chance to "prove themselves" yet, so to speak, so it's harder to cull the "meta" ones from our lists. The...

The selections will be randomly generated, but they'll be from lists we've curated to exclude Pokémon that were too historically strong (like Gardevoir SW) or too uninteresting to build off of (like Luxray FST). Some Stage 2 Pokémon ex, Pokémon-GX, and Primes do make the lists.

They look great! Fonts look pretty close to perfect, apart from the alignment thing. Don't forget to update the Illustrator credit, though; as a matter of policy we delete cards with improper credit in an effort to reduce art theft. :)

Yep — Psychic, Ghost, and Poison were all represented by [P] in XY and SM, so making a Pokémon of one of those types into a [Y] card in one of those eras would certainly fit the bill for this theme. (Unless of course the Pokémon was something like Gardevoir or Mimikyu, which can conventionally...

A little bit, yeah — for our purposes, [W] is a TCG type, while [W]-with-[M]-Weakness is just a subset of that. Changing Gyarados's Weakness/Resistance isn't really the same thing as changing its type. Good question, though!

Unfortunately that does go against the intent of the theme — we're looking for a Pokémon with a TCG type it can't normally have, and inventing new TCG types is a loophole we'd rather stay closed. Similarly, inventing new Fakemon (or even using well-established Fakemon) is not allowed for this round.

That's fine; Metagross DS was Lightning/Metal but counted as a Delta Species Pokémon. If it has at least one type it couldn't normally have, you're good. Sure, provided it's the wrong type for the era.
