As always has been, people like more Charizard because it LOOKS like a dragon (And now in X it's actually one), despise being quite lackluster in the "metagame". Although It's ironic how Red is always conected to Bulbasaur, not to Charmander. And I don't talk about the Manga only GameFreak...
