Loyal Three, Kiernan, Carmine, and More Cards from “Mask of Change” Revealed!

Kieran is extremely good - anything that couples with a switch effect is usually playable and his second mode is very good (except it doesn't use the "Rule Box" designation because lmao).

All 66 “Crimson Haze” Main Set Cards Revealed!

Definitely one of the best sets in a long while, although that Greninja does look pretty busted. It's not particularily broken, it doesn't KO stuff for free or spread energy for free, but it consistently outputs crazy damage and controls the game. What WOULD be funny if they'd start printing...

“Twilight Masquerade” Pokemon TCG Set Officially Revealed for May!

Teal Dance might be the first example of a build-around acceleration ex-card in the H block. Compared to it's contenders from the previous blocks it is much better balanced, being severely slower and more restrictive. It is definitely not terrible, though - the ability to turn your Energy into...

    Boomerang Energy from “Crimson Haze!”

This card can either be useless or have a whole deck based around it. However, the big drawbacks of this card are that it's a Special Energy (which limits acceleration heavily) and getting it knocked out still gets rid of it. Most playable decks that utilize discarding attacks, especially in...

“Pokemon TCG Pocket” Gameplay Differences Analyzed, 40 “Genetic Apex” Cards Revealed So Far!

There is a few ways this mechanic could work (I know, shocker). 1. You get one Energy per turn into your Energy zone. This would mean "ramp" is more of a reward for missing Energy attachment, such as when it's still early in the game. That is possible, but we haven't seen any cards that add...

    Survival Cast from “Crimson Haze!”

I'm trying to understand what's going on in that render, cause it looks like Pokemon getting freaky with it.

Full Art Perrin from “Crimson Haze!”

Research is extremely strong in the grand scheme of things and it makes decks - especially decks of beginners - extremely same-y by enforcing a strategy of rushing through your deck in an attempt to see as many cards as possible. Cynthia is a much better variant of an evergreen draw card. That...

Stellar Tera Type Coming to the Pokemon TCG in “Stellar Miracle” Set!

It would actually make no difference in that case. It would deal 2x damage to everything = that is its base damage now.

Full Art Perrin from “Crimson Haze!”

This is someone's waifu tax. Unrelated note, I'm curious what Supporters we'll get in H-on. So far there's not really a generic draw Supporter available. If we actually move away from Professor's Research towards something slower and more balanced, H-on will reach levels of based unheard of before.

PokeBeach Podcast: “Pokemon TCG Pocket” Will Usher in a New Era for the Pokemon TCG!

No, it's a Pokemon TCG issue. It's an issue with how Pokemon TCG is designed as a game, and the way cards are designed. The difference between Pokemon TCG and other TCGs on the market is that a bad deck in other TCGs still does things and interacts with the opponent. A bad deck in Pokemon TCG...

    Farigiraf from “Crimson Haze”

Setting up a full bench of Stage 1s wasn't that easy even a few years ago, now it's way harder. The saving grace here is the attack being powered from a double colorless.

    Farigiraf from “Crimson Haze”

Well, if you have a board full of them it does 240, which is not... terrible? However, setting it up quickly and consistently is another matter. Could be a fun casual deck in H-on.

PokeBeach Podcast: “Pokemon TCG Pocket” Will Usher in a New Era for the Pokemon TCG!

In the "difficult to learn" I am not just including the rules, but how to play correctly. Newbies don't want to play Professor's Research, because it loses them cards. They have a hard time managing energy, which isn't a "fire-and-forget" resource like in other TCGs. And then there is...

PokeBeach Podcast: “Pokemon TCG Pocket” Will Usher in a New Era for the Pokemon TCG!

PTP is obviously targeting casual fans and this has both potential positives and negatives. On the positive side, Pokemon TCG is notoriously difficult to learn and especially build decks for - the game isn't designed in a great way and without supervision most kids and casual players have games...

    Morpeko from “Crimson Haze!”

Lets hope this is the kind of acceleration we'll get in H-on. This is genuinely a great card. Takes a turn to accelerate and has a condition, but also powers itself up and has utility even later in the game. More of this.

How “Pokemon TCG Pocket” Will Usher in a Massive New Era for the Pokemon TCG

ILCA and Niantic beg to disagree. Also DENA just makes mobile games with gambling elements, it's not necessarily "magic". And let us not mention PTCG Live.

eBay Publishes Pokemon TCG Stats for 2023!

The whole of Europe uses Cardmarket so I can't judge, but every story about some high-level scam seems to take place on eBay. Isn't there some North American equivalent?

“Pokemon TCG Pocket” Immersive Collecting App Coming in 2024!

You cannot respond to it, because you are deluded. Minting anything but short strings is prohibitively expensive. Minting every single card in its entirely is a ridiculously expensive task. Literally nobody does this. For the rest, refer to the post above. There's no point in continuing this...

“Pokemon TCG Pocket” Immersive Collecting App Coming in 2024!

No, it is not, it is kilobytes upon kilobytes of data in a specific format. And what makes me "own" that MP3 is that it is stored on a physical device I own. NFTs cannot store an MP3, they cannot store a picture, they cannot store anything beyond a link to someone else's database - a database...
