    Zoroark, Zorua from “Night Wanderer”

No I get that, I just fail to see how it would make this card overpowered. Especially when it's based on your opponent's choices, not yours. I was addressing how the failure to backwards-proof and future-proof a card like Scoop Up Net let to disastrous consequences. Then Pokémon Labs created...

    Zoroark, Zorua from “Night Wanderer”

Well Mega-ex would probably still count as ex, depending on how they print them. But why wouldn't a card printed now be future-proofed to hit targets in the future? Going to take a wild guess that I've been a game designer longer than you've been an adult. I mean, this "effort" has previously...

    Zoroark, Zorua from “Night Wanderer”

What is the problem, though? As I said, this does exact same damage to Radiant Pokemon, so the only "downside" is that playing Radiant Pokemon would give it another 60. This card isn't strong enough for another 60 to make it broken.

    Zoroark, Zorua from “Night Wanderer”

Again, why not just use "Rule Box"? You can't even argue it'd make it hit unintended targets, since it does the same amount of damage anyway.

    Cresselia, Yveltal from “Night Wanderer”

There are only a few cards with this effect, but I believe we've even discussed on the Custom Card Discord that a mechanic of flipping prizes face up would be a fun deck-wide, or even block-wide mechanic. It's an underutilized resource.

Kingdra ex, Horsea Illustration Rare, Dangerous Laser ACE SPEC, and More Revealed from “Night Wanderer!”

That is an upgrade, but the crucial distinction is that it doesn't draw you any cards. The reason why Welder and Sada are so broken, is that they both accelerate and provide card advantage at the same time. Janine only does one of those. It's good - it's probably a bit too good - but it's...

Kingdra ex, Horsea Illustration Rare, Dangerous Laser ACE SPEC, and More Revealed from “Night Wanderer!”

Janine is the first "serious" acceleration in the H block. But compared to even something like Sada, it's way more balanced.

Duskull, Dusclops, and Dusknoir from “Night Wanderer!”

I'm already not a huge fan of sniping Abilities and this is the strongest we've ever seen by far. I don't think it's particularly playable, but I also don't see the point of printing a card like that. There's a reason Pokemon use attacks to do damage, everything else is just a bonus on top of that.

It’s the BDIF For a Reason — Advanced Tips For Playing Charizard ex

Competitive Pokemon players really execute something that is completely standard in other TCGs and consider that "incredibly skillful". The funny part is most of that resource intensity comes from the fact you're playing mirror 90% of the time, so these little differences in deck composition and...

Xerosic’s Plan, Malamar from “Night Wanderer”

The worst part of a Judge/Marnie/Iono is getting completely random cards that might or might not contain a Supporter - it makes the game random and destroys any planning that spans longer than a single turn. This card does not have this issue.

Ultra PRO Releasing “Rayquaza Legendary Foil Playmat” with Foil Accents!

A playmat is the ultimate customizable accessory, since it's very hard to screw up a mat. But it also means that the amount of options out there is incredibly rich. $30 for a mat is hard sell, especially with the predictable stock art™.

Slither Wing, Iron Moth from “Night Wanderer”

It's good to have two cards that are Future-hate and Ancient-hate, but the costs and damages of attacks are way too bad. Yes, Ancient Moth can OHKO an Iron Hands ex, but that's a very narrow usage. Maybe if the health gap between ex'es and normal cards wasn't as big as it is.

Shockingly, GameStop’s Graded Card Program Will Buy PSA Cards for Their Market Value! All The Details!

Paying you $20 less is still $20 profit for the store. The "store credit" is obviously a sham, since now they're making money on their product's margin. This isn't any different than taking your cards to a Local Game's Store, you're also going to get a haircut. The bigger issue I see is that...

Ultra PRO Releasing Premium Togepi Card Sleeves Under Brand New “APEX” Line; Deck Box Also Releasing!

Ultra Pro has definitely felt the decline in market share over the years when it comes to sleeves. Back in the early 2000s, all you could get were Ultra Pros that ripped easily, stained and scratched. Now almost everyone I know picks alternatives. Eclipses were definitely a step in the right...

Finally. I feel sorry for the poor souls who opted to play action games in 20FPS 720p.

“Night Wanderer” TCG Set Officially Revealed Featuring Pecharunt ex and The Loyal Three!

It's obviously impossible to say what amount of players falls on which part of the personality matrix for Pokemon TCG, but from the data I've seen for games I've worked on, competitive players are usually the biggest minority (below 10%, usually nearer 5%) - and I don't just mean...

“Night Wanderer” TCG Set Officially Revealed Featuring Pecharunt ex and The Loyal Three!

I don't really care about what's playable and at which rates in Tier 1, because that concerns a minuscule amount of players. There are going to be great decks and perhaps even dominant decks. We also aren't nearing some kind of "true balance", arguably the entire "multiprize" mechanic is...

“Night Wanderer” TCG Set Officially Revealed Featuring Pecharunt ex and The Loyal Three!

I have to agree here, recent sets are promoting the DLC - most people don't care, the legendaries (beside Ogerpon) are ugly and unimaginative. SV Pokemon design was generally very weak. Collectors are waiting for another retro set. Good news is, thanks to this facts these sets will be available...

“Night Wanderer” TCG Set Officially Revealed Featuring Pecharunt ex and The Loyal Three!

Reusing Poison as a "positive" mechanic is somewhat clever, if not for the fact that Pokemon willingly killed Poison (and Burn). But given that it's four Basics you have to play together it looks pretty restrictive. Kyurem is just hilariously blunt. I get "fixing the rampaging power creep" and I...
