    Alakazam from “Mask of Change”

The good trend I see in H-on is giving Stage 2 Pokemon attacks that only cost 1 Energy, but deal significant damage. Alakazam has some interesting attacks that might work as a one-off in psychic decks. Also Abra technically works as a stall counter?

Ultra PRO Releasing Nostalgic Pokemon TCG Binder Design!

That would be an extremely random "joke" and the photos up top are definitely not made with Photoshop. The photos on the bottom are of old, retro binders. The new binders won't have retro art.

Ultra PRO Releasing Nostalgic Pokemon TCG Binder Design!

As far as Ultra Pro binders, this one is kinda cool. We've had a lot of justified disappointment at Ultra Pro (and even TPCi in general) reusing the stock art, but I do wonder what the rules are on the old Sugimori artwork. I'd look cooler with some retro art on the front or back.

    Chandelure from “Mask of Change”

Read the attack - it stacks with the amount of cards on the opponent's hand. So Judge + four Chandelures is a guaranteed 240 damage. I wouldn't worry so much about giving your opponent cards - the format already has ridiculous draw power. You also shouldn't be afraid of Boss, because everything...

    Chandelure from “Mask of Change”

It looks pretty fun, considering multiple Chandelures can make your opponent draw even more cards, while drawing cards yourself is never a bad thing. It also makes the deck more consistent, along with the low attack cost.

Feebas and Milotic from “Mask of Change!”

I think there hasn't been an effect like that, ever? There's a bunch of things this card blocks, since it hits attached cards along with the Pokemon themselves. What's kind of sad is that it isn't universal - it could combo nicely with attacks that ask you to return Energy to your hand.

New Ultra PRO “Alove 4-Click Deck Boxes” and “Tournament Folio Set!”

You know what would be incredible? If these could hold the coins you sometimes get in Pokemon products.

Volbeat, Illumise from “Mask of Change”

Miraidon has the effect of Volbeat's attack for free as an Ability. At least they could make it cost zero, to mimic the great Alolan Vulpix of yesteryear. Illumise, on the other hand, has some troll potential. Sadly it cannot catch an over-extended opponent by shuffling their Charizard ex or...

“Temporal Forces” Has Hardest Pull Rates of Scarlet & Violet Sets for Highest Rarities

I wonder how they'll handle reprinting Ace Specs. If these were regular Trainers, I would expect them to appear in a lot of precons and beginner-friendly products. But if Master Ball and Prime Catcher aren't reprinted, Temporal Forces might be very sought after for a long time.

PokeBeach Podcast: Upcoming Mystery Promos and “Crimson Haze” Secret Rares!

I think my argument in this episode was presented pretty poorly - I also don't think it was done out of malice, so I will reinstate it very simply. It is true that the numbers in the game were objectively powercreeped. However, that was not my main concern. Numbers in the TCG are somewhat...

The Easiest Broken Deck — Turbo Iron Hands ex

You are writing this under an article about a card that is considered a "counter" to 1957 out of 2569 Pokemon cards (76.1%) in Standard.

The Easiest Broken Deck — Turbo Iron Hands ex

I think that's exactly the reason it's paywalled. However, the issue here is the price. $15 is a ridiculous price for a month of membership. This is the same price as Netflix.

The Easiest Broken Deck — Turbo Iron Hands ex

I like how we basically got a reincarnation of ADP (a card that "counters" 90% of printed cards), but there's so much already-ridiculous stuff in the format that it's not a cause for concern. Also i like how, quote "The results seem to indicate a format just as diverse as the one we have now"...

“Vibrant Paldea Mini Tins” Releasing in June!

Obviously. I just expect them to linger on the store shelves for a long while.

“Vibrant Paldea Mini Tins” Releasing in June!

Actually one of the weakest tin selections in a while. I get that they wanted to highlight SV Pokemon, but most of these aren't great.

PokeBeach Podcast: “Twilight Masquerade” Officially Revealed and All “Crimson Haze” Cards!

I think this approach will not last for long, as the design space of actually improving Tier 1 decks without giving them additional broken tools is way too small. In some cases, like Metang and (I believe) Ogerpon, these cards might power some Tier 2-3 decks. Honestly, the best option for PTCG...

PokeBeach Podcast: “Twilight Masquerade” Officially Revealed and All “Crimson Haze” Cards!

So far they are doing just that. So far the H-block is well-balanced beside perhaps Prime Catcher, and I feel even that card isn't as oppressive as predicted. Note that the cards you've listed are not from the H-block. It's fine to think wishfully, just be careful what you wish for. Either the...

PokeBeach Podcast: “Twilight Masquerade” Officially Revealed and All “Crimson Haze” Cards!

But you are. To be "on the level" of broken cards Ogerpon (or some kind of support card they can use, see: Electric Generator) would need to be equally broken. Teal Mask Ogerpon is probably most similar to Miraidon ex in being a basic with some kind of set-up Ability. Miraidon ex is barely in...

PokeBeach Podcast: “Twilight Masquerade” Officially Revealed and All “Crimson Haze” Cards!

And that's a great thing. Trying to make new cards that compete with the old broken cards like Charizard just pushes the problem back to another generation. My problem is not with the quality of the evaluation, it's with acting disappointed and saying they "suck", when these are exactly the...

PokeBeach Podcast: “Twilight Masquerade” Officially Revealed and All “Crimson Haze” Cards!

Sad to see Ogerpons being evaluated by the standards of today's powercreep. There is no need to have another Charizard ex or Lost Box or Genesect or [...] until the game is pushed so far we just show each other our starting hands and decide the winner based on that. For H-on, and for just the...
