Contest CaC September '18: Back to Basics! (All Results Up!)

Would it be okay if I entered a card inspired by one of my past fakes? I'm working on a new template and I'm thinking about remaking my old Mew +PLUS as a regular Mew with the +PLUS Attack changed into an Ability, and a different attack.

Contest PokéBeach Create-A-Card: July 2018 - Unused Types ~ Official Judging is Now Up!

Hooray! I didn't expect to win with this one, especially with how it placed in fan-voting. Not quite as exciting as the other entries. I don't know how I missed that missing space. (There actually is a space there, but I've noticed that Gill Sans gets wonky on spacing after a period sometimes...

    General Neko's Moth-Watching Thread

Just when I was starting to think that I wouldn't get anymore interesting moths this year, let alone new ones, I found that a cocoon I spotted on a fence a couple weeks ago had eclosed to reveal my first Dot-Lined White! The famous "Venezuelan Poodle Moth" is believed to belong to the same genus...

News Rumored New Pokemon Appears Publicly in 'Pokemon GO,' Then Vanishes!

Changes into Ditto when caught? ... MissingNo.? I honestly wouldn't mind if it were a new Pokémon. I mean, it wouldn't be the first Pokémon made of man-made items slapped together that we've got. I'd love even more if it was TPC's way of officially acknowledging MissingNo. as a real Pokémon...

Only one more new adult, the Indigo Stem Borer Moth. As the name suggests, the larvae bore into the stems of wild indigo (as well as dogbane). Here's a Hitched Arches Caterpillar: And what appears to finally be an active Mini Bagworm (Confederate Microbagworm). I've seen a dozen of their...

I'd heard of flightless females, but I had never stumbled across one until today. Here's a female White-Marked Tussock Moth laying her massive clutch of eggs on her former cocoon: How did all those eggs fit inside her!?

Saddleback Caterpillar. These unique slug caterpillars are equipped with spines that deliver painful, lingering stings. I've heard about them my whole life but don't recall encountering any until today. Imerpial Moth Caterpillar. I think this is the largest caterpillar I've seen (about 3.5"...

General What is Your Favourite Color?

I like metallic and emerald greens, though I'm not sure I'd call a flat, solid green my favorite color. Maybe a light, minty blue-green (something close to Magic Mint)? Honestly depends what it's on. Some of my favorite color pairings are green and black and pink and yellow.

Confused Dart/Subgothic Dart (close examination of the antennae is required to tell these two species apart) First new moth of September: Arcigera Flower Moth. At the right angle, the bars in the center of its wings appear pink. And here's another example of a Banded Tussock Moth...

Explicit Arches. Always a pleasure seeing green hues on moths. Luna Moth caterpillar (5th instar). I've seen several adult Lunas, but this is my first time ever seeing its cat.

Moth season seems to be coming to a close. I've had very few lepidopteran visitors over the past few nights. However, I have gotten some interesting September-October moths in the past, so hopefully I'll be able to share more new species this year. In the meantime, here are some more...

A very dark Gray-Edged Bomolocha. Colors and clarity of their patterns vary. I thought the charred look of this one looked cool. Packard's Lichen Moth, a small but handsome species IT'S SO ORANGE! This is one of the Virbia-genus moths (I'm thinking Immaculate Holomelina, aka Plain-Winged...

Got a better pic of the Virginian Tiger Moth, open-winged and showing the pattern on its abdomen. I love when I'm able to get moths pics against natural backgrounds! And here's a female Isabella Tiger Moth from a few nights ago. Their hindwings are more vibrant than those of males. Some...

Not a new species for the list, but here's a Small-Eyed Sphinx that's more colorful than my previous encounters with them: - - - EDIT: Here's a new one. The Asteroid (aka Goldenrod Hooded Owlet Moth) doesn't have much of a presence when fully at rest, but it's quite handsome when the tucked...

Not my art, but I saw this gorgeous picture on DeviantArt and couldn't help but ask if I could make a mock-up card with it. Larger version: [x] Amazing art by GigaMessy! https://www.deviantart.com/gigamessy/art/Misty-Mermaid-732752127

Visually similar to the Fall Webworm Moth and almost impossible to distinguish with closed wings, the Virginian Tiger Moth (Yellow Woolly Bear Moth) is just slightly larger and has black dots down the back of its abdomen and yellow-orange patches on either side. Although not very colorful...
