Espeon&Darkrai-GX's first attack does 60 to a benched EX/GX. I'm sure there are others in a similar vein, that do more damage to GXs and stuff. Aerodactyl can only attack if there are no GXs or EXs on bench. There's more, I'm sure, but I cbs researching rn.

Why fire energy? If it doesn't matter the type of energy you use, is there a reason not to use, say Psychic or Water energy that can actually work with the mons that need them in a pinch?

You should play MewMew for sure imho. Getting Blastoise-GX in the discard seems much easier than setting it up as a Stage 2 attacker in addition to the Stage 2 support mon.
