News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

I agree. I find the regular arts so much more appealing artistically. The full-arts seem so bland and "unfinished" to me, like they forgot to do a background so they just MSPaint a solid color over it. Honestly I think they should just have the rainbow arts be the normal full-arts.

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

I reread the effect like 10 times thinking I'm surely overlooking some catch. Four energy attaches is ridiculous. The good thing is that it works with any Pokémon, which makes it a little less broken (since the opponent can run with it too). Though it really only helps fill Colorless...

Discussion Neglected Pokémon in the TCG

Yeah, they definitely have a habit of not completing a trio. It's really annoying. You aren't the only one. I've longed for Sawsbuck in my sig for a while now. :P To make matter worse, we saw the return of Deerling only to leave it in an incomplete line. :(

Discussion Neglected Pokémon in the TCG

Yeah I'm not expecting to see the fossils again for a long while. Especially since Gen 7 didn't introduce any new ones. :/

Discussion Neglected Pokémon in the TCG

I deliberated back and forth. I originally had it in Natdex order but it looked kinda messy to me. Plus I figured this way people could quickly scroll to see a Pokémon they're curious about, or use my Google spreadsheet to view the Natdex instead. I'll change it up here if there's more...

I've overhauled my "Neglected Pokemon in the TCG" thread. The main post now has complete lists of neglected Pokemon by era!

Discussion Neglected Pokémon in the TCG

I've overhauled the main post of this thread! You can now see era-specific alphabetical lists of neglected Pokemon by clicking the spoiler tags! As is the case with my spreadsheet (see sig), I will be updating the main post as English cards are released.

Discussion Neglected Pokémon in the TCG

It's the week of Guardians Rising's release! I've updated my spreadsheet (see sig)! Here is the breakdown! In Guardians Rising... 13 Pokemon were last seen in SM sets. 67 Pokemon were last seen in XY sets. 2 Pokemon were last seen in BW sets. 1 Pokemon was last seen in DPP sets. Guardians...

Discussion Neglected Pokémon in the TCG

I would consider Kadabra abandoned at this point. I also consider formes to be abandoned as individually named cards. Most formes get equal-ish representation in art these days though. It does make tracking prints kind of cumbersome since a Pokemon like "Wormadam Plant Cloak" will technically...

Help How Do you Flatten Curvy Holos?

The dreaded Curved Foils affects us all. The best way I've found to avoid it is to put them in the typical 9-slot binder pages back to back. So a single slot on the page will have two holos in it (allowing you to see the rear holo's face on the backside of the page). They kind of resist each...

    Discussion Your Cheat Encounters?

A similar thing happened to me, back when everyone was running Exeggcute and had the risk of starting with a 30 HP Pokemon. They neglected to show their hand; I didn't say anything (benefit of the doubt) but the judge caught him. Same "Oh, I didn't realize I had that" excuse. That's the only...

Discussion Aqua Patch: What Will You Use?

I'm still rocking a Primal Kyogre deck as my main for Standard so I'll likely stick it in there to see how it does. Haven't gotten around to testing with a proxy yet, but I'm thinking it won't affect the deck too much. I do wonder though if it'll allow me to put in the Ancient Origins version...

After the next set releases in a couple weeks I'll update the main post with a more pertinent list.

Discussion Neglected Pokémon in the TCG

You mean the first post in this topic? I made that over a year ago. :P I don't plan to update it much now that I have the spreadsheet going. Also I usually post updates here of returning Pokemon as they are revealed. At the time of the post Cherubi had just left Standard a few months prior so I...

News Strengthening Expansion Pack, Best of XY Pack, and Ash VS Team Rocket Deck!

As much as I'm tired of N, I'll put up with him for another rotation if it means I can play with those Shauna and Hex FAs in Standard. Though like others have said, ideally these will all be XY-P so they don't continue to stick around for several more years. Maybe in a FA boxset similar to the...

News August's English TCG Set: 'Burning Shadows'

What's a better way to celebrate a brand new generation than to give most of the Ultra Rares to old Pokémon that have already had several? :D ...*aggressively holding back tears*

Discussion Neglected Pokémon in the TCG

Gen 7 is doing much better because TPCi is at least treating it as the newest, latest, greatest. In the TCG it's not just another extension of the BW era which is great. Yet, we're still quite early, so it's hard to predict how the future will look. We still have several Gen 7 Pokémon that need...

Discussion Neglected Pokémon in the TCG

I think the main problem was, since the XY era was dominated by Gen 1 Pokemon, a lot of Pokemon that would have otherwise seen a return to the game ended up buried under the trillionth Mewtwo and Charizard cards. (Though it still doesn't really explain the absence of Bulbasaur-Ivysaur.) They...

Discussion Neglected Pokémon in the TCG

Sunkern and Sunflora are definitely overdue for new cards. These two aren't just neglected in the TCG; they are largely forgotten everywhere. :( A triumphant return in the form of a GX will help mend the wounds.
