News 'Islands Waiting for You' and 'Moonlight of Alola': Japan's Next Sun and Moon TCG Set!

Tapu Lele-GX is way too good. Disgustingly good. If Mewtwo-EX (and Jirachi-EX, to a lesser extent) are any indication, the metagame has a new card to centralize around. I really didn't like the Mewtwo-EX era... I hope Tapu Lele sees several hard counters, and soon.

    Games Favorite Eeveelution?

Leafeon, who also happens to be in my top 5 favorite Pokemon. Honestly, though, I love every Eeveelution. I get excited whenever I evolve one in-game or pull a card. :D

News 'Islands Waiting for You' and 'Moonlight of Alola': Japan's Next Sun and Moon TCG Set!

I'm liking the idea of effects changing if a GX attack has been used. It won't be long before we get a Pokemon that has an attack or ability with an "If your opponent has used a GX attack this game, then..." effect.

    Discussion Most Dissapointing TCG Set

I agree with this. With how much attention Team Plasma got (and still gets to this day, for some reason), I was hoping we would've seen a similar series of Team Flare cards like the three Plasma sets had. :/ TPC ignored a lot of Gen 6's characters and stories in general. I still can't believe...

    Help Espeon GX attack

Another advantage of placing damage counters (versus "doing damage") is that it bypasses a lot of effects. So, for instance, if one of the Defending Pokemon had an effect that said it couldn't be damaged by your Pokemon's attacks, a "place damage counters" attack would bypass that. It can even...

Discussion Neglected Pokémon in the TCG

Around the time I began doing this, the Awakening of the Psychic King set came out (our Fates Collide), and it had a ton of returning faces. Moreso than any XY set leading up to that point. I'm not taking credit, of course (I doubt any TPCi people read this thread :p), but I think around that...

After a long hiatus, I've finally returned to the Beach. Life throws curveballs sometimes, but none of them critically captured me. :P

Discussion Neglected Pokémon in the TCG

It's that time again! Sun & Moon has released, and I've updated my spreadsheet. Here is the breakdown! In Sun & Moon... 56 Pokemon were last seen in XY sets. 54 Pokemon have never had cards before. Obviously this set was going to have a lot of new faces -- and since SM is the new era, a...

Discussion Neglected Pokémon in the TCG

Thanks! That's actually a really good idea. I'll look into adding Total Number of English Prints per Pokemon in a future update. :D

Discussion Neglected Pokémon in the TCG

Boundaries Crossed was Farfetch'd's most recent full set print, but he had a card in the Kalos Starter Set which was part of the XY-On standard rotation, so I didn't consider him to have returned from the BW era. He was kinda stuck in the middle. Definitely glad to see him return though; I've...

@crystal_pidgeot Whenever I use a deck with Colorless primary attackers, I usually include at least one Winona. Do you think she has any use in your Pidgeot decks?

    Collecting Fake FA Xerneas-EX?

Good to hear you're getting at least something back. That's rare from card sellers, in my experience!

    Collecting Fake FA Xerneas-EX?

I don't think the card is fake (it's awfully hard and cost-ineffective to fake the texture pattern). It does look "smeared" to me as well. It could be a factory issue, or it could have been handler error -- maybe they spilled something caustic on it and tried wiping it away. I'm unsure what kind...

Collecting Is This Card a Misprinted Full Holo?

Congrats on pulling the best Pokemon card ever! (totally not biased here) This Purrloin is part of the Radiant Collection subset, which is included within the larger Legendary Treasures set -- two cards from the subset are included in each pack. The Radiant cards have unique foil patterns, such...

    Collecting Weird Evolutions Pulls

The error seen on the Zapdos card happens when the card isn't entirely inside the pack when it's sealed shut on top. It unfortunately greatly decreases the value, sadly. The holo pattern error is indeed rare; I've only seen it personally a couple times. My best guess is that the machine...

    An Online Collector Site/App/Program?

It doesn't have much for sorting or filters, unfortunately, but I've used the Pokellector site for a few years now, which allows you to keep track via a checklist setup. I find the Pokellector app to be useful as well, which functions the same and has a QR scanner for PTCGO. Alternatively you...

Collecting Blank Card Misprint from Generations ETB

Nice pull! I saw an error card like that sell in an eBay auction early this year for around $30. (I tried to find the listing again but couldn't, sorry!) Error collectors may go higher than that. There's similar error cards that actually have reverse foil or holographics, but those are...
