News September's SM4 Set: 'The Awoken Hero' and 'The Transdimensional Beast'

I actually quite like this Emolga - plays well with a number of Lightning decks, given we're about to lose VS Seeker, making Fisherman far less useful, as well as the fact that energy retrieval is an item card which is bad vs Garb. I'm also surprised we don't see more simple support Pokemon...

News New 'Battle Arena Decks: Landorus vs. Genesect' in September!

Ooo, nice, I'll finally be able to get some more foil Grass & Fighting energy from this. That's.... actually the main thing I buy these for. Though I do like that they're continuing to make foil trainers for these - makes it a bit more worthwhile, especially if you don't play much of any...

News 2018 Pokemon Championship Series Details Posted!

Nice to see Portland being Standard this year! Was quite miffed when it was Expanded last year, leaving only Seattle for Standard in the PNW here (Richmond, BC replacing Seattle this year, of course). Honestly, I think they need to drop Expanded from official play altogether. It makes for an...

News America's November Set: 'Crimson Invasion,' Two Ultra Beast Premium Collections!

Well... I suppose the logo looks nice. And the ETB is a pretty blue! ...not much to comment on otherwise. XD Hopefully we get some more card info soon. It'd be nice to get some info on what the UBs are gonna be like - and Milotic is always interesting.

News Japan's SM3+ Set: 'Shining Legends!'

Hmm, it's certainly interesting, and a great support Pokemon, but while 100 damage for 2 energy is good, being limited to that sans Sky Field (which is gonna rotate here soon) means you ain't gonna use it as a main attacker most likely (GX attack is nice, but obviously can't rely on those given...

Event PokeBeach's June 2017 PTCGO Tournament, Sponsored by TCGPlayer.com!

Hey @PMJ, I think I'm gonna go ahead and forfeit the round to @Jonnysniper & drop from the tourney for the rest of the month. My deck for the month has just performed terribly (partially due to the build, partially to opponent's decks & play, and partially to PTCGO's "randomization"), and it's...

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

Well, it'd be 180 with the 30 from poison & burn, or 210 with Choice Band. Which is why I said it was admitedly better in the damage department - that 20 from burn makes a difference!

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

But then you need to scoop-up or devolve it, which is more clunky than having 2 Pokemon you can use every turn, though that is admittedly better in the damage department, since it can hit 180 (not 220 - that'd be WITH a choice band).

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

Muk GX could be used with Ariados AOR & Hypno BKP, but that's still kinda impractical & clunky. It's cool to have a free GX attack, but it has limited usefulness until Lysandre rotates out, and even then, it's still a little meh. Love the flying trash in the artwork, though. XD

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

Okay, wow, that ability on Marshadow is ridiculous (also, awesome art). Low HP for a GX (Basic or not), though that does help to balance it out better. Will be interesting to see how people use it since it doesn't HAVE to be used in just Fighting decks. A tech in a Darkrai to deal with other...

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

Love the artwork of the FA Kiawe! Will be interesting to see what it does. And yay for Marril! Wish it was Fairy, though - would help out our Cube since there are so few Fairy cards in existence. Just would be nice to get more (non-GX/EX) Fairy cards in general. :P

    News Tsareena-GX Box in August!

While the GX attack is interesting, it's pretty "meh" otherwise. Too easy to get around confusion (and status conditions in general) right now, as well as attacks like Glare. Switch, Escape Rope, Float Stone, Olympia, ect... while it can still be useful, having that be the end-all-be-all method...

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

Love the artwork, for starters. Beaut. As for the card, good HP, great ability (free attachments are always good!), low energy requirements for great attacks (both reg & GX), and a Fairy to boot! This'll be a useful thing to look at as I try to build a deck dedicated to Fairies. Low & behold...
