Discussion What Deck would you say is the best?

Anything is possible. I'd be undefeated for October if I have made an idiotic mistake in R2. But I am playing a different deck for our tournament. Wanted to mix things up.

Round 3: @JGB146 won 2-0 over @theprp30 Sorry for the sucky draws, man. I wanted to win, but not like that :(

Discussion What Deck would you say is the best?

My bad. It's a newer take on Psychic Malamar that can shift to use one prize psychic attackers or go down the more standard path for the deck. However even going down the standard path, it typically employs Marshadow GX as the primary attacker, because of the flexibility this provides. It uses...

Discussion What Deck would you say is the best?

GasKan is the deck that got first and second at Memphis and second at Philly. If people jump on the lightning train, Buzz Shrine could become more relevant. Seems like it probably does ok against Lost March too. But the matchups against other decks are harder to predict (and I haven't shifted...

Discussion What Deck would you say is the best?

Actually, I'm not. I've saturated myself with it, training for IRL tournaments. I played it at the Cup I won yesterday and didn't lose a single game all day. I'm using this month's Pokebeach to work on some skills stuff instead.

Discussion What Deck would you say is the best?

GasKan is BDIF. I'm sorry, but that's just how it is. I was confident in that statement before Philly, when he first published the article here. Even more so after Philly. And now, after Memphis? You're kidding yourself if you think it's not BDIF. You have to know how to play it. It's...

PokeBeach's September 2018 PTCGO Tournament, Sponsored by TCGplayer.com!

OMG OMG OMG! How did I not realize this was a battle of the Zygardes? How did we not record and stream this?! I'm heading to bed and then out all day tomorrow to hit an out of state cup. But to head off thoughts on prize packs, you can do Forbidden Light, Celestial Storm, or TCGPlayer store...

Tournament October 2018 PTCGO Tournament Pairings

I think the link to the bracket is wrong. What it shows up as is correct, but it's linking to August. Here's the right one: https://challonge.com/octcup2018

    Discussion Solgaleo and Lunala Boxes

Are these still coming out on October 5 (Friday)? Do we have a solid idea of when they will be legal?

Dude, your deck was really impressive. I thought I was SOL game 2.

If it goes poorly, we'll probably do away with it after a few months. But I've done some examination of the Buchholz calculations in Challonge and I have some problems with how they do things, so I want to decrease the importance it has on determining who makes cut.

Discussion GasKan Testing (8:30pm EDT to Midnight)

Also, GasKan is the name Caleb have to Rukan's second-place Malamar deck from Philly. You can read about it in Rukan's recent articles. You've probably run into it on the ladder, though half the people playing it don't really understand how the deck actually works.

Discussion GasKan Testing (8:30pm EDT to Midnight)

Long term, I want to end up with a solid testing group. In my experience that starts with building a good testing partnership and then slowly expanding. Once things settle with Shikageru, we'll either add more people or I'll be looking again, lol.
