Why is Darkrai a good matchup? All Cells Burn+2 Strong Energy OHKOs a M Pidgeot, although it's not very relevant.

M Pidgeot EX is not the greatest card in general. 130 isn't anywhere near enough damage to justify all the effort you're putting into walling.

I don't understand the strategy. If Pidgeot gets hit, you're almost always going to want to Max Potion+Mirror Move right away. If it doesn't get hit, you're going to want it to get hit. If you choose to retreat into Pyukumuku instead, your Pidgeot isn't getting hit. They can set up as much...

It better not see competitive play. Games that can be lost on flips alone are not my idea of a good format. That said, I love the gimmick options it opens up.

It is. Lele doesn't speed up games. It gives you more outs to supporters, which are still one per turn. Decks will be more consistent, but not faster. All the power will still be here after Shaymin rotates, but players will be unable to speed through their decks like they could before...

Don't really like any of your other options tbh. Lurantis is seeing a decent amount of hype and will eat your frogs alive (same with Vespiquen and Decidueye to a lesser extent) while Sceptile isn't really that good in the first place because it loses hard to Volcanion and doesn't have good...

I'm in the same boat, this finally convinced me to bite the bullet! I would guess that the reason why there's no top cut is time. If they want this to be a monthly thing, it's hard to fit in more than 6 matches.

Plasma Energy, Double Colorless Energy, Rainbow Energy, and plenty of other examples that aren't legal anymore also don't have the requirement of being attached to a certain type of Pokemon.
