It's interesting as a lead Pokemon, but I'm not sure if it's worth the deck space. Freaking amazing for like a theme deck or for someone who wants to make a deck for kids to play, but as a Tiered card it's pretty non-viable.

The problem is they could only really release an Alakazam EX or an Abra that allows immediate evolution to Alakazam, which would in turn make Alakazam have a Stage 1's power level rather than a stage 2.

Eh. Maxie's suffers from losing Exeggcute. Unreliable hand control starts to become an issue, as Eggs get you out of some nasty positions. I think it'll be strong, but Rogue. Hence why we didn't consider Blastoise Keldeo Tier 1 anymore simply due to Archie's requirement.

Mega Mewtwo Y does not hit for Weakness. The attack specifically states to ignore weakness.

Seeing as TPCi are based in America, it's cheaper and easier for them to both host the event in America and give out prizes (prize laws are a right bitch worldwide)

I've been trying out the deck on PTCGO. Even as a player not 100% familiar with all the outs to get Archie's Turn 1, I can get T1 Archie's a good 70% of the time.

Funny thing about rotations. Blastoise Keldeo becomes the top deck of 2015. And is immediately completely illegal in standard.

I'm never sure about Double Mega decks, purely because of Spirit Links. It makes an effectively stage 1 Pokemon that up the space of a stage 2 Pokemon and two Stage 2's in a deck have historically been inconsistent at best. Not saying it's not possible, it's just gonna be quite an inconsistent...
