'Shocking Volt Tackle,' Japan's September Set!

Lure Ball rotates out, and more importantly, only recovers evolution Pokemon from discard.

August's English Set: 'Darkness Ablaze,' Plus Two New Types of Products!

No one is sleeping on the deck. In fact, it's the second most played one in theme format according to a reddit user that bothered to gather statistics for 400 duels.

August's English Set: 'Darkness Ablaze,' Plus Two New Types of Products!

Seems like this is the way to go when designing theme decks after SSH. Bloated attack costs, very little cards in the deck that can help you load your attackers, and also bloating the deck with attackers when well designed theme decks actually have some balance between offensive and support...

2020 Holiday Set Confirmed, Includes Missing Sun & Moon Cards!

Genuinely doubt they are going to hold back on new cards until they feel comfortable making a subset like Shiny Vault that was only done because their release schedule in the SM era was terrible.

2020 Holiday Set Confirmed, Includes Missing Sun & Moon Cards!

Since it is focused in Galar gym leaders, I genuinely doubt this will have any Amazing Rares. They will probably go into our November set.

'World Down' and 'Legendary Heartbeat,' Japan's Summer Sets Introducing Amazing Rares!

Yeah this kills the pre-release promos theory and my (short-lived) type-support theory. Like I initially mentioned, it was all single-prizers with meta potential. If they don't simply print golden Decidueye/Altaria or Hoopa...

'World Down' and 'Legendary Heartbeat,' Japan's Summer Sets Introducing Amazing Rares!

We are still missing 18 Gigantamax formes in the TCG, and since they use them as the flagship card for the sets, we can expect 2-3 per set. At this rate we can expect them to end printing them by the end of next year, bar Gamefreak making more gigantamax mons. Tbh I'm kinda surprised that...

Rainbow Rare Charizard VMAX, Full Art Charizard V Promos!

They just released Rosa past year, which was a far better effect for a supporter which can only be used after a KO... I know it's a gym promo, but would it kill them to make it good?

'World Down' and 'Legendary Heartbeat,' Japan's Summer Sets Introducing Amazing Rares!

The cost is too high for it to be anything other than a meme tier deck. You need to be facing a multiprize deck - ok, the meta is full of that - and then put MMCC on it for the KO. CC is covered by Twin Energy, but you need to hard attach the other two energies, use Saucer, Turbo Charge on...

'World Down' and 'Legendary Heartbeat,' Japan's Summer Sets Introducing Amazing Rares!

Trumbeak is the big winner from this batch of reveals. Already translated it and it's something like follows: "When this card evolves, check the top 3 cards from your deck. Attach any number of basic energy cards you find there to pokemon you control in any way you like". With Oranguru and...

'World Down' and 'Legendary Heartbeat,' Japan's Summer Sets Introducing Amazing Rares!

4 energy is loadable by Welder + Twin Energy. Reset Stamp puts them at 6 cards at the early game, and Surprise Box makes them regain the advantage. However, this deck's problem is the static damage output. 250 doesn't OHKO any V-Max Mon and Shrine of Punishment is rotating out. Powerful...

'World Down' and 'Legendary Heartbeat,' Japan's Summer Sets Introducing Amazing Rares!

Clunky, it only works on benched pokemon and it needs the opponent to be using a V-max deck. Could be a niche tech but I see people overhyping it.

'World Down' and 'Legendary Heartbeat,' Japan's Summer Sets Introducing Amazing Rares!

Amazing Zacian is a crazy addition to ADP - the deck previously had problems reaching OHKO numbers against mons in the format which also ended up making it worse than Zacian Combo and Dragapult V-Max, while also being slower to setup than Pikarom. However, with the loss of Jirachi Prism, the...

'World Down' and 'Legendary Heartbeat,' Japan's Summer Sets Introducing Amazing Rares!

Zekrom is OK, 2 free paralysis for LLC is damn amazing and probably a tool that could be used to stall out in Boltund decks that already use Chuchu for the para. You guys need to remember that despite this being a format with 4 Switches and 4 Scoop Up Nets, you need to actually HIT said switch...

'World Down' and 'Legendary Heartbeat,' Japan's Summer Sets Introducing Amazing Rares!

Yeah I don't see why people are creaming themselves so much about the Raikou. Turbo Charger is a thing, but it's also a coin flip. Koko is a thing but it's also limited to 1 per deck, and are you really wasting your Koko in a 120 bench snipe? Max Elixir... I mean ok, if you can somehow manage...

Lucario V from 'V Starter Decks' Revealed, Hints of the Other Eight Pokemon V!

280 is definitely the record for 2-prize basics at the moment.

'World Down' and 'Legendary Heartbeat,' Japan's Summer Sets Introducing Amazing Rares!

Rayquaza-GX is loadable in certain decks so I can see it as an attacking option in them to diversify weakness or simply as a strong 1-prize attacker. The fact that it's compatible with Karate Belt helps it a bit too. But even then, an attack cost like this and no ability is pushing it, so I'm...

'World Down' and 'Legendary Heartbeat,' Japan's Summer Sets Introducing Amazing Rares!

I'm betting on the special rule for Amazing Rares to be printed in the rulebook, because that effect is absolutely crazy for an attack on a basic. Maybe you can only have one amazing rare in your entire deck - but max out copies, so you could have 4 Jirachis but no other amazing rare. This is...

Lucario V from 'V Starter Decks' Revealed, Hints of the Other Eight Pokemon V!

"Relevant". Sorry, but Japan doesn't have a competitive scene as good as the west does.

Lucario V from 'V Starter Decks' Revealed, Hints of the Other Eight Pokemon V!

You say that but I would wait until we actually get results from relevant tournaments in the TCG. Dark Box as a whole is an archetype that has potential that hasn't been scratched yet, except by using energy engines to load heavy-cost attackers.
