I feel like the TCG will be very stale by the time Gen 8 comes out, because of the restriction of which Pokémon can be used. Cutting out 5 sets at a time, IMO is also too much.

Funny, because most Pokémon games have a terrible story, especially SM/USUM, with the games holding your hand for way too long. I honestly don't think they're going to appeal to the casual audiences if they keep this up. At least Kanto games have a less intrusive story, which is probably why...

Since Megas are going into retirement, that means if the last few Megas never get cards until the end of this Generation, they won't ever get them! This sucks because I really want to see Mega Banette and Mega Pinsir artwork!

The reason why I'm considering not including those is actually because of Sword and Shield. Those games get rid of Megas and probably Alolan Forms too and who knows how that will affect the TCG. I suspect the TCG will also limit the amount of and forms of Pokémon to those only available in Galar...
