News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

Wow. That Raichu could be really annoying if the opponent has no way to switch. It's basically Servine's Serpentine Strangle, but without the coin flip (and mercifully, not Grass-type).

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

Pokémon Card Lab is killing me here. Porygon-Z is my favorite Pokémon, but it keeps getting these uncompetitive cards. And this latest one... wow, does it suck. That Ability might seem interesting at first, but there are two major flaws I can immediately see with it. For one, it sends the...

News 'Islands Waiting for You' and 'Moonlight of Alola': Japan's Next Sun and Moon TCG Set!

Huh, "Bloody Eye" wasn't actually censored like I was certain it'd be. Interesting.

News 'Islands Waiting for You' and 'Moonlight of Alola': Japan's Next Sun and Moon TCG Set!

AT LONG LAST WE HAVE TOOL REMOVAL! GARBODOR'S REIGN OF TERROR ENDS HERE! Also, am I the only one hyped for FA Hala and Aqua Patch? I highly doubt it! Rescue Stretcher is a very interesting card. Getting back something you had to discard early, like Tapu Lele-GX, will be pretty good. In...

News 'Islands Waiting for You' and 'Moonlight of Alola': Japan's Next Sun and Moon TCG Set!

Raging Ice Ball is like a bad version of Mega Glalie's Cryo Mouth - it has a much more lenient condition for increased damage, but it's much weaker and has a much less forgiving Energy cost. That aside, I love the art. I can't wait to see more of what so-taro has to offer!

Sandslash's Ability name is the Japanese name of Slush Rush, for the record.

News Errata Announced for Electrode from 'Evolutions'

So basically, they made Electrode capable of providing Energy even if it somehow gets moved away from a Lightning 'mon (through something like Ninja Boy or Slowking). This is objectively a slight buff, but realistically, I don't see this errata mattering much at all.

News First 'Sun & Moon' English Set News!

Good thing we're gonna be skipping Cosmoem most of the time, 'cause that card is BAAAAD. Speaking of skipping Stage 1s, that Rare Candy art looks amazing.

News First 'Sun & Moon' English Set News!

Nest Ball seems interesting, but I'm not sure it'll replace Ultra Ball outright - at least, not until Shaymin-EX rotates out. Playing it straight from deck to Bench doesn't activate Set Up, and for that reason alone, I still see Ultra Ball being the dominant "ball" card in decks. Even so, Nest...

News First 'Sun & Moon' English Set News!

Unlikely. It's an attack, so you can't use it if you're going first, and if you're going second, your opponent would have to be extremely unlucky to be unable to put anything on the Bench.

News First 'Sun & Moon' English Set News!

If you didn't think auto-paralysis only once per game was bad enough, I have this little reminder for you all: SOLGALEO-GX EXISTS. Yep, Lapras-GX was simply doomed by the very set it came out in.

News 20th Anniversary Set in September + Surfing Pikachu and M Slowbro-EX!

Haha, no. The fact that he takes up your Supporter for the turn and promptly ends your turn makes him really bad. No one's gonna use this guy over Sycamore or N, because they give you draw power and let you continue your turn. I get that they tried to avoid giving us the original Oak in full...

News 20th Anniversary Set in September + Surfing Pikachu and M Slowbro-EX!

10 more HP and Psychic type (because that's what Poison became in DP). Other than that, it's exactly the same as the old card. But about the type change, I never really understood why Poison was moved under Psychic in DP. Yes, Grass was weird too, but at least that made a little sense as a sort...

News 20th Anniversary Set in September + Surfing Pikachu and M Slowbro-EX!

Well, this is certainly much closer to an actual reprint than that Diglett from earlier. It's basically the exact same card as its older incarnation, just with 30 more HP. Also, the first attack is still called Bind. Wrap is まきつく in Japanese.

News Solgaleo GX and Lunala GX: Pokemon GX Mechanic Revealed at Worlds!

Welp, here's what I think of these cards so far. Solgaleo-GX - Sol Burst is definitely interesting, but it seems like it could be ruined by Lysandre if the opponent can KO what you powered up. Sunsteel Strike is just another "all-in" attack that'll likely cost too much Energy to be worth it...

News 'Rayquaza vs. Keldeo Battle Arena Deck' in September!

Too bad she's coming too late to stop Night March, since it's getting rotated. Maybe in Expanded, I guess.

Arcanine BREAK in September's 'CoroCoro Ichiban!'

Turbo Flame seems like an attempt to get around reprinting Blacksmith, but honestly, a setup attack isn't that great on something that needs way too much setup itself. After all, we're talking about a pseudo-Stage 2 that doesn't even get anything like Rare Candy or Maxie/Archie; at best, we have...

Japan's XY11: 'Explosive Fighter / Cruel Traitor', CP5: 'Mythical / Legendary Dream Holo Collection'

Pokémon Ranger = "screw you toad"? Man, we finally have a card explicitly designed to get Special Energy back. Fighting decks will love this, for sure. XD

Rowlet, Litten, Popplio from the Alola Region!

"Solgaleo’s Ability is Full Metal Body, a new Ability that no previous Pokémon has had. With the Full Metal Body Ability, a Pokémon’s stats will not be lowered by the effects of an opponent’s moves or Ability." "Lunala’s Ability is Shadow Shield, a new Ability that no previous Pokémon has had...
