Discussion Neglected Pokémon in the TCG

One baby Pokemon is likely if not guaranteed to bring back all baby Pokemon. What annoys me also is that Togepi and Riolu are both baby Pokemon but are treated as basic. Maybe there should be a special Pikachu, clefairy etc that are stage 1s from the baby form and are stronger than the basic...

We owe a lot to the gen V cards for the format that has carried on to Gen VI. Getting rid of the lost zone, lvl.X, Pokebody etc (essentially simplifying the game) and giving us EXs (a perfect medium for Mega Evolution) That being said Gen V had a lot of issues. My guess as to why they went...

XY 11 has turned out to be almost as big a neglected Pokemon showcase as XY10! Its like for 7 years TPC was thinking "we can't do Burmy there are too many forms!" Before realising they could simply have all three forms represented on the 1 card. That would explain why they immediately did...

Japan's XY11: 'Explosive Fighter / Cruel Traitor', CP5: 'Mythical / Legendary Dream Holo Collection'

This kinda confirms Nidoqueen seeing as a Nidoqueen is mentioned in his ability. The again Marowak got a print in Fates Collide without there even being a Cubone

I wonder if the non-baby, non-kadabra pokemon thay remain neglected after AoPK will reappear sooner than later I cant think of any reason Sunkern/Sunflora or Mantine would be deliberately neglected. With another generation around the corner it will only get harder to keep it fair

My thoughts exactly. Radiant collections are a prefect excuse but still neglect our beloved babies

My bet is on, if any, Steelix to be the next new Mega and Pinsir+Lopunny to be the 2 least likely to see theirs any time soon.

Japan's XY10 Set: 'Awakening of Psychic Kings,' Alakazam!

It's my understanding that Game Freak has no legal reason not to print Kadabra cards (hence why it is still available in the games and is still mentioned by name in Mysterious Treasures despite not getting a card) it is simply not doing it out of "good faith".

XY10's Fossil Excavation kit certainly increases hopes of the return of other neglected fossil Pokemon. Luckily only 6 fossil Pokemon (3 basics) are currently truly neglected. Lileep and Cradily got a BW print leaving only Anorith-Armaldo and generation IV. Yeah, a fossil vault or "baby"...

    'Fates Collide' Set List Discussion

Before BREAKthrough, Wobbuffett got Phantom Forces which was relatively recent (some Pokemon wait seven years, some longer). If Tcg were fair about Pokemon distribution (which it isn't) it would be Azelf before Wobbuffett at this point given the choice.

Discussion Neglected Pokémon in the TCG

In terms of high-tier competition, very few people are able to play with their favourite Pokemon and get very far. Night March is the dominant deck for instance and I doubt Joltik, Pumpkaboo and Lampent are fan favs. It's not that TPC is afraid of having viable cards or focuses on...

Discussion Neglected Pokémon in the TCG

Like in the video game, there will always be pokemon that will not be considered playable but are an essential part of a completed pokedex. A fairly large % if not the majority of tcgers have no interest at all in competitive play, they simply want to collect and trade their favourite Pokemon...

Discussion Neglected Pokémon in the TCG

Does anyone consider a Pokemon "only" represented as an EX consistently to be 'neglected'? Charizard has, like, 8 EXs in the last year but no stage 2 since Legendary treasures for instance. Ditto a lot of legendary Pokemon.

Nidoking was the first Pokemon I ever got to level 100 (back in 1998). I am disappointed that Nidoran (F) got a line in Primal Clash but there is still no XY Nidoking. Not to mention Ancient trait Nidoqueen (69/160) was a decently playable card but Plasma Freeze Nidoking was a joke. Nidoking...

Zangoose and Seviper. Sure, there are "team Aqua/Magma" recent prints but they deserve a card in their own right. Same goes for a lot of Pokemon who are severely neglected if not for "Team Plasma" prints. Weezing, Muk, Steelix, Torterra and Infernape to name a few For the record, Geller is...
