I think Dratini might be better as Water because the entire family is usually associated with water or the sea. Maybe Dratini and Dragonair become Water and Dragonite becomes Water/Flying. Oh, and since Lugia and Ho-oh are hinted to be reappearing in this game maybe they could get Alola Forms...

Well, we do know about what the Super Moves are now, they're called Z-Moves and they're activated by collecting Z-Crystals. There's a Z-Move for each type, and so far they've confirmed 4: Gigavolt Havoc (Electric), Bloom Doom (Grass), Inferno Overdrive (Fire), and Hydro Vortex (Water). Anyway...

I can't imagine Arcanine would do much good as Grass/Bug, it's not a great type combination and it probably wouldn't make a whole lot of sense. What would be neat is if it become Dragon type, which would make sense since it's known as the Legendary Pokemon and it could be justified as adapting...

I think there is an imbalance between physical and special moves by type, some types have a lot of moves in one and barely any in the other. Fairy's the biggest offender here, with a whopping one physical move, they pretty much have to fix that. But beyond that I wouldn't mind seeing more...

I don't really have much of a preference, I just use whichever better suits the Pokemon (whether or not it has a better Attack or Special Attack, what its movepool is like, etc.). I usually have a healthy mix of both on my team.

Hmm, true. The Japanese Alola Forms and Z-Moves trailer implies that Alola Exeggutor evolves from a regular Exeggcute (it shows Exeggcute evolving and then cuts off the evolution footage and shows Alola Exeggutor in battle). So it's possible that some of their evolutions could still get final...

I already did so in the Older Pokemon thread. It's important to note that this isn't explicit confirmation that these Pokemon will show up in their original forms, but there's probably a good chance they picked these Pokemon from whatever we can actually catch in the game.

I would imagine there would be scenarios where you could breed the Alola forms down. For instance, if you breed Ninetales-A with a Ditto I can't see any reason why you shouldn't get a Vulpix-A. What'd really be interesting is if you breed a Ninetales-A with a regular Ninetales, maybe it takes...

No, it should be a regular old Ninetales. Only the Ninetales caught in this game will be Ice/Fairy.

So something just occurred to me. Do you still evolve Alola Vulpix into Alola Ninetales with a Fire Stone? Because that wouldn't make a lick of sense. Unless there's an Ice Stone now or something.

That depends on whether or not there's going to be any new Megas this generation or not. If there are, we might not see too many of them because they'd have to divide between new Pokemon, new Megas, and Alola Forms, but if there isn't any new Megas, Alola Forms will probably just take the place...
