    Yanmega/Magnezone discussion

RE: I don't get Yanmega/Magnezone. That deck should run no babies, and there should almost never be more than one baby in ANY deck.

    Yanmega.... how to counter?

And if you would've read the post that I was replying to, then I wouldn't have to repeat myself. He said zekrom with a dce. He never said that he played lightning energy. Zekrom with a dce alone only does 40, which does not help.

    Yanmega.... how to counter?

I don't know how many tricks they can have because there are only like 20 good pokemon.

The Importance of Coin Flips in the Current Format

If they changed the rules back, going first would still be an advantage, but a FAR less of one. Actually, if you don't have a yanma in your starting hand, then you actually are at a one turn disadvantage. So idk, it might be even.

    Yanmega.... how to counter?

But once again, how are you going to get damage on the zekrom?

    First Turn Win?

Most top players didn't play many babies at nats, and I doubt that will change. Most of the general public that filled their deck with babies won't be playing in worlds, so baby play will definitely go down. Zekrom will also not see much at worlds because stage 1's will be widely played at...

    Yanmega.... how to counter?

Yeah I have a feeling that he is trolling. When I asked him about the kingdra yanmega matchup, he said something about cincinno and killing water arrow kingdras, and then insulted my intelligence. If it is true that he is 21 years old, I doubt that he is this immature. There is no way that he...

    Why Kingdra prime?

Because kingdra yanmega is a proven deck that did well in both Canadian and U.S. nationals.

The Importance of Coin Flips in the Current Format

With the rare candy rule, even if the person who goes first can't use t/s/s, then it is still a significant advantage in this format because they get to evolve first.

    Yanmega.... how to counter?

And a rare candy, which is not searchable.

The Importance of Coin Flips in the Current Format

1.) Machamp was never a good deck, and was not very widely played. 2.) Same with donk decks. 3.) The only trainer locking deck was vilegar, which you want to go first with because that way you can get out a vileplume out before you got bright looked. 4.) SP's, with the exception of dialgachomp...

The Importance of Coin Flips in the Current Format

Most decks at worlds are only going to play 1 baby, or even none, so the only flips after you decide who goes first are really on reverals and dual balls, and not all decks play dual balls.

    Yanmega.... how to counter?

For yanmega to attack turn 2, you need a yanma and a yanmega. Both are searchable. For reshiram to attack turn 2, you need reshiram, cyndaquill, rare candy, typhlosion, 3 energy, and a way to get the two energies in the discard pile. You also need a cyndaquill and a reshiram with an energy on...

The Importance of Coin Flips in the Current Format

I actually felt that going first was very useful in the last format if you got the right basics. It was completely fair before. Now it couldn't be less fair.

    Yanmega.... how to counter?

T2 is very fast in this format because of the rare candy rule and the lack of bts.

The Importance of Coin Flips in the Current Format

Yeah, it would've been best to not do a rotation and to not be able to play TSS on the first turn. Right now there is absolutely no drawback to going first besides that your opponent can tell your gameplan on their first turn.

    Yanmega/Magnezone discussion

RE: I don't get Yanmega/Magnezone. Ok, well i was assuming that we were discussing our current format that we still have the most important tournament of the year with. And what do you plan to be knocking out magnezone with?

    Yanmega.... how to counter?

Sure ZPS counters kingdra/yanmega/jirachi and can knock out a yanmega, but zps loses to magnezone yanmega and zoroark/donphan/yanmega which will be the two most popular decks by far at worlds. ZPS is a good deck, but it just isn't a good choice for this format IMO.

    Yanmega/Magnezone discussion

RE: I don't get Yanmega/Magnezone. If you're going for the magnezones then you will have to burn all of your reversals/other resources while they are playing practically nothing and picking off yanmas/yanmegas so in the late game you won't have any way to counter the yanmegas so you will lose.

    First Turn Win?

At worlds the donks will go way down because there will be few decks with more than one baby.
