It's more of Americans enjoying to play auto-pilot games like YGO which is still probably easier than Pokemon or Vanguard. Vanguard's on its first year and it probably has overtaken YGO here in the Philippines.

You must use a metagame deck to counter metagame decks. That's really just how the ge works now.

Add money to the equation. You can't win the tournaments without spending on EXs or Tropical Beach. Pokemon now is like a toned down YGO where the cards matter more than the player skill itself

IMO, it matters more on your general deck (deck choice in general rather than the decklist itself). I am always a firm believer that the computer is usually your biggest enemy in a large scale tournament. I'd rather have the skill difference tip the game in my favor.

Your idea would make the format even more broken than it already is. Catcher makes this format still playable. It has been explained countless times. Anyway, this new format is just as boring due to all the EXs still being alive.
