I like N the most, I find him really interesting, and then Paul from the Gen 4 anime takes a close second, I found him to be the only really menacing rival introduced since Gary, and I've really missed the show and franchise in general having one.

I always choose my starter based on which one I think has to coolest final evolutionary form. At the moment I like Fennekin the most but that can change when the evolutions are revealed.

Not counting the red Gyrados, I first encountered a Shiny Sandshrew in Gold. I was an 11 year old noob and accidentally killed it. T_T. Later I caught a Shiny Spinarak in Crystal to mark my first successful random encounter shiny.

I always Nickname my Team members on the main adventure, and nicknaming my top competitive Pokemon is a must for me. I feel it customizes a bit, and gives them some character and soul.

RE: Pokemon that look better than thier evolved forms Definitely Grovyle IMO. I remember liking that mid-way evolution WAY better than Sceptile and all of the other starters as well in gen 3. I almost always refuse to evolve mine whenever I get a Treeko.
