Help Hello, ANY advice or guidance for tcg play is welcome✊

When you go to the tournament they'll be able to sign you up with an ID card, every player needs one and it's free. (Playing in the tournament is not though) Keep that ID card/write the number down. (Once you connect it to an online account you can pull it up from your phone via the website)...

    Standard Alolan Ninetales GX

The promo Koko is electric type and has weakness against Shaymin so the 100 to active is 200 which KO's the Shaymin without the sniping attack or Choice Band. It also takes 3 energy though. Unless you were talking about 2 hitting Shaymin via 1 snipe for 20, then Lysandre with CB for 50x2...

Discussion Does GRI Golisopod deserve an errata?

It's just reminder text, cards that can fit them do so, and cards that don't leave them out. Sometimes it's a little unclear when they should or should not print them, but both of your example cards would work the same way.

    Standard Alolan Ninetales GX

Tapu Lele burns your supporter for a turn, Shaymin let's you play an extra pseudo-supporter. I think it's pretty well established based on the results at most high level play that two Shaymin is standard in most decks, even with Lele changing things up I don't see that changing until rotation...

Help The "What Should I Buy?" Thread

@shadoworganoid Do you already have anything? What kind of deck do you want to run? Getting 1 or 2 Battle Arena decks, like the Keldio/Rayquaza ($25-30) one gives you a decent core trainer set for standard. (And two decent skeleton decks for Expanded) That plus your box of Guardians Rising...

    Standard Alolan Ninetales GX

I highly disagree with dropping a Shaymin. You really want at least 2 in most decks. Not necessarily to use 2 every game, but to make sure 1 isn't prized. If you only have 1 and it's prized you're already behind in this meta. It's not an attacker it's a supporting Pokémon. If Glaceon is a thing...

    Standard Teaching Beginners

How young are your younger players? It might be better to just pick up three theme decks, that way they are still using full 60 card decks and the theme decks mix types so weakness isn't as important, but does still come into play. I wouldn't recommend a 30 card deck, unless you are also...

Discussion Question About What Pokémon Cards are Made From

Japanese cards are higher quality than English cards, which are higher quality than Korean cards. (Someone at my league happens to collect some foreign cards so these are the three regions I've seen in person) The packs in Japan have fewer cards in them to make up the difference in quality I...

Help TCG Questions Regarding Dates and Promotional/Prerelease Kits

The McDonalds kits are their own sets, they have their own art (technically), numbering and set icons. Some of the attacks may be reprints effectively, but they are technically their own thing. If you took them to a tournament you would mark them as a Mcdonalds card. (Not sure what the...

    Discussion Item/Supporter Lock?

Sableye has to be the active in order to attack.

Standard Lycanroc GX / Zygarde EX Deck

The Deck Garage section of the forum is usually for full 60 card lists so you might want to post the list you're thinking of or don't be surprised if this gets moved to the right place. :) (Not a big deal really, just more of an FYI for next time) Just thought I would chime in that there is...

    Discussion Item/Supporter Lock?

There's already a relatively recent discussion about Sableye just a page or so back, and the item/supporter lock did come up. Here's the link if you want to jump in or see other's thoughts, they might not repeat themselves every time this comes up...

Help TCG Questions Regarding Dates and Promotional/Prerelease Kits

Oh if you just want to know what the cards were download the Pokellector App. (I have android, I would assume it's also on iOS if you have that) It'll let you browse all cards by set, including the McDonald sets. They also have scans of pretty much all the cards except for the unreleased sets...

Help New to the game and need advice/tips on how to branch out to find my bearings.

Here's a decent Volcanion list: http://www.pokemon.com/us/play-pokemon/orlando-regionals-2016/tcg-masters/ This one placed in top 8 at Orlando Regionals. (Hit the drop down and pick the Volcanion one) Some things have changed since that tournament and I've seen some Volcanion players using...

Help The "What Should I Buy?" Thread

The weekly leagues that do free play typically allow WC cards, many even don't care to check for true Standard decks, at least for new players as they are building their collection. (Might be different if you came in will a full meta Expanded deck without letting your opponent know!) However...

Help How Do you Flatten Curvy Holos?

How bad are they? Just putting them under a heavy book or something similar should do it. It might take some time though to do that many.

Help TCG Questions Regarding Dates and Promotional/Prerelease Kits

1 and 2 should be in the news sections on this site, but you might need to dig a little for the older pre-release kits. A quick google search for "2016 Mcdonalds Pokémon cards" found this link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/check-out-these-pokemon-toys-coming-to-mcdonalds-h/1100-6431862/...

    Help New Player(s) ... Needing Guidance! :)

Do you have much of a budget to spend on real life cards? Will most of your playing be done in person or online? Unfortunately the theme decks are not competitive at all and are as you noticed clunky and filled with dead cards. They are only useful as the most basic introduction to the game, and...

    Ruling Pinsir

Latios EX does if you only have a small basic to start with and they get an energy plus a way to boost the damage to 60, which is a common HP level for non EX/GX basics. It's not as easily abused as Shiftry would have been as many players in that era used bigger EX basics that couldn't be KOed...

    Discussion Excadrill (Post-Guardians Rising)

@Corgimaster, you can't Ninja Boy or FFB an evolved Pokémon. The Kukui and Silver Bangle would work though!
