Standard Shining Arrow - M Gardevoir EX

Mega Turbo would help speed things up a bit. What part of setting up are you having trouble with? Getting the Mega/Spirit links out? Or enough energy to do good damage?

Help TCGO player looking to start playing physically

Double battle arena decks will give you a solid core of trainers so that's great. You have the right idea in regards to trainers, many are used in just about every deck. (N/Sycamore/Lysandre/VS Seeker and such) There are exceptions of course and counts may vary, but for the most part you want...

    Expanded Uuuuuuggghhhhh (budget deck)

No, currently there are no Breaks that evolve from EX cards, and most likely there never will be. If you read the break it says "Evolves from Yveltal", not "Evolves from Yveltal EX." The EX is technically part of the name and must be printed on the evolution name. (Which is why you have 4...

News North American International in Indiana, Worlds at Anaheim Convention Center

Does it say anywhere if it's standard or expanded? It might have already been announced somewhere and I just missed it.

    Expanded Uuuuuuggghhhhh (budget deck)

Umbreon EX probably won't be as good in the current meta as it used to, since the main attack is specifically designed to be amazing versus Mega EX Pokémon, but the new sets are going to be printing GX Pokémon rendering that attack useless. Umbreon GX is good though. There's a few prints of...

    Expanded Uuuuuuggghhhhh (budget deck)

I noticed you labeled this expanded, but it looks like all of your cards are standard. Which format are you looking to play? This deck is going to be very clunky with so many evolution lines. I would drop the Nidoking line completely. If you have another Gengar, put it in, if not drop it to...

Standard "Budget" Umbreon GX Yveltal Deck

Pokémon catcher would work, but it's a coin flip and therefore has a chance to fail. Some decks do ok with coin flips, but for the most part it's better to run cards that don't have them. As I mentioned before, using the 30 extra damage from Shadow Bullet means on a future turn all you need is 1...

Standard "Budget" Umbreon GX Yveltal Deck

No worries. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing a Lysandre-like effect that either just came out or is coming out next set! :) I do think Kukui is ok to play one or two of, but only if you have the VS Seekers to grab it exactly when you need the extra damage. Otherwise it's just wasted...

Standard Shining Arrow - M Gardevoir EX

I tend to recommend throwing at least one M Gardevoir with Despair Ray into the mix, as it really helps against decks like M Mewtwo which are weak, and you don't need to use it in other matchups.

Alt. Format Need help on BUDGET deck

What do you already have as far as Pokémon/trainers and what would you LIKE to play, if budget were not an issue? Greninja has been my go-to recommendation for budget decks, but with the rise in grass decks it may lose favor. Also, are you looking to play in large tournaments, small local ones...

Discussion Ever seen anyone play with Toploaders?

I've never seen it personally, but a friend at my league also plays another game competitively (A Japanese title that escapes me at the moment.) and he saw someone playing in full top loaders at a large tournament. The judges talked to the player before the tournament started to make sure he...

Standard "Budget" Umbreon GX Yveltal Deck

I would say to keep 1 Kukui if he had VS Seeker plus another way to switch their active into the Shaymin. You can't Lysandre and Kukui in the same turn, which makes the extra 20 to KO Shaymin meaningless. Without the VS Seeker to reliably be able to grab the Kukui it's just not efficient card...

Standard "Budget" Umbreon GX Yveltal Deck

The Jolteon only throw in there if your local meta has things weak to electric. Volcanion is popular enough to throw in the Vaporeon for sure, and personally I think grass will make a comeback so the Flareon is good. Not many things are weak to Electric, but if you have any Yvetal players at...

Standard "Budget" Umbreon GX Yveltal Deck

Well a deck that doesn't have EX's as the focus doesn't need Hoopa so no worries there. I would highly recommend four VS Seeker though. You still have six months of the current standard rotation, plus expanded play past that. Shaymin is expensive, but worth it if you want to get competitive this...

    Standard Gardevoir EX (Budget)

Just thought it worth mentioning that there isn't anything official saying the 2018 rotation will be Breakthrough-current for next years standard. While I think that's a good guess, it could be off a set or two. Also, just because standard rotates yearly doesn't mean you can't play expanded...

    Help Ancient origins eeveelutions

Yes, any Stage 1 becomes a dual/triple/quadruple/quintuple type depending on what you have out, this includes stage 1 GX Pokémon to! There's also a Jolteon that has the same ability as the Flareon and Vaporeon for a possible three extra types, then if you have a dual type stage 1 you could...

Ruling Primal Groudon "Barrier" and Escape Rope.

Please read the compendium. It's a great resource when you have questions on rulings like this, and is the official source that judges at events can use if a question like this was to come up at a tournament. This type of question was answered in the compendium a few years ago, I quoted the...
