There are a couple of reasons, mostly because it's a bad idea to only play special energy in a deck nowadays, and only playing one sets you updated for trouble. Zororoc also really doesn't have the room for the dedenne combo, unless you want a limited setup. It's actually better in that matchup...

Registeel is necessary against hoopa for sure. I also wouldn't be afraid to stuff this deck full of items like Acro bike, as this deck is uniquely good against Garbodor. Steel wing+frying pan+ resistance is -80 before factoring in items.
