Discussion What sets are we thinking will get rotated after the season?

That makes no sense. M-Ray and Vesipqueen are not turbo decks. Just because a deck gets to its win condition fast, doesn't mean its turbo, its called consistency. You're generalizing WAY too hard here. I'm not arguing that they occasionally make broken cards, look at LuxChomp for example. But...

Discussion What sets are we thinking will get rotated after the season?

You can't have too diverse a meta. Because once everything is Tier 1, games are based on coin-flips rather than playing the game. For example, Cardfight Vanguard is a game that I quit pokemon to play, because I felt pokemon was headed in a bad direction (right after worlds 2013). In vanguard...

Discussion What sets are we thinking will get rotated after the season?

The difference between Volcanian and Turbo Dark, is the play style of the decks. One is an EnergyBoard deck, that need lost of energy on board, and stay on board, to do damage. It does this by using Max Elixer, Yveltal (normal), and EXP.Share, making you think and choose how you want energy to...

Discussion What sets are we thinking will get rotated after the season?

Wait, what? I'm confused by your statement. Are you saying certain decks don't follow this pattern, so they are different? You say that all deck are the same, high damage with different colors, yet you say: "Quad decks, Stall/Mill decks, healing decks operate differently." The point of...

Discussion What sets are we thinking will get rotated after the season?

Pokemon is a linear game. And only has two win conditions. Either deck-out, which isn't good in a faster meta, or prize win, in which we have pokemon worth 1/3 of your win condition. Every deck does their win condition differently, we have stun like Vileplume and Sylveon. We have high damage...

Discussion What sets are we thinking will get rotated after the season?

While yes, Fighting and Metal aren't that great right now, its perfectly fine. As someone who's favourite typing is metal, yes I would love to see M-Scizor, Metagross GX and Solgaleo GX be Tier 1 - Tier 2 good, but I also understand that it would be bad if EVERY typing had a meta deck. For...

Discussion What sets are we thinking will get rotated after the season?

The problem with this quote, is that Pokemon doesn't release a random amount of sets a year, they are all set in stone, one every three months. so we know how many cards we have at a time for example, the HGSS format ended with ten major sets in total, however, the only defined meta we had with...

Discussion What sets are we thinking will get rotated after the season?

I see a lot of people saying the game isn't healthy right now. As a player who was around in the HGSS days with Primetime and The Truth, to the days with of Speed Darkrai winning two worlds, the game is in a great place. I don't see whats unhealthy about it. The ONLY card in the game I could see...

    Discussion Standard Meta Tier List

I miss the meta deck thread where the sticky was the discussion if what is the top decks, and the threads were discussing on each decklist. #bringbackthemetagamedeckthread

Discussion Viability of Lapras GX PRC - SM2

It will most likely be Tier 1. Too much speed for it not to be. It's very close to the old Speed Darkrai deck from BW that won two worlds.

    Standard Post GR Mega Scizor

After playing Scizor alot, the only time im hurting for energy, is when i opened terrible, and had Sycamore with multiple energy, and never saw super rod. You really only use about 6 energy per game since everything is cost two. And i'd rather have cobalion on bench waiting, than Dhelmise. I...

    Standard Post GR Mega Scizor

This is kind of odd to see. Here's why: While yes, the difference between 120-130 is huge, its not worth trading Kukui, which has more applications, for just 1 Dhelmise. Kukui is the kill secure on 250HP GX's, It's the kill secure on the 130HP basics, and he secures a lot of kills with Cobalion...

    Standard Post GR Mega Scizor

My biggest fear of putting Tauros GX in is the fact that i cant power him up in one turn, and no FFB, but i do think it would be good as a back-up. I think Lele will be the best addition. Actually, the reason i don't play two Lysandre, even though i OHKO Shaymin EX, is just personal pref. I...

    Discussion Standard Meta Tier List

Yes, however, you play this deck different than BW Darkrai. Aqua patch is your late game recovery, not your acceleration.

    Discussion Standard Meta Tier List

Nest Ball is better than Ultra Ball/Dive Ball in this deck. You have no one that you want to ultra Ball for, that you cant Nest Ball for. As for the T-mail, you can make the argument for why its needed and what to remove for it, but it's not that big of a game changer for this deck.

Discussion Favorite 2 card combo in competitive history?

Darkrai EX/Dark Patch from BW Dark Explorers. Won two world championships, and was a combo used in many T3 decks such as Chandelure/Darkrai, and the EX Donk Deck with Tornadus EX, Darkrai EX, and Bouffalant. The combo defined two rotations.

    Discussion Standard Meta Tier List

On #3 I meant 2-HKO, my apologies. The difference between Solgaleo and Metagross, is the let game. Solgaleo has a great early because of its OHKO potiential, but once it does it's attack, its just sitting there, thus why most lists have other attackers in it. Metagross however is the attacker...

    Standard Post GR Mega Scizor

I'm a returning poke-beacher, used to post on here a lot back in the BW format, then I quit the game for 3 years because it got really stale and boring. But it's picking up speed again, so i came back. One of my favorite Pokemon is Scizor and i'm glad that Scizor is a good deck, however it has...

    Discussion Standard Meta Tier List

Lycanroc will be able to thrive post rotation, but not before, the deck cant be good as long as Forest of Giant Plants is a card. The GR Lycanroc will be good for disruption, and it might get some RNG wins, but with Owl and Lurantis around, it cant be anywhere near the top. Tier 2 at best...

    Discussion Standard Meta Tier List

This is a yes and no kind of answer. Yes, TD doesnt need as many cards as Volcanion, however, Volcanion has a lot of tools to get it to where it needs to be. It doesn't need THAT much set up, and from play testing both decks, looking at tournament reports, and looking at different builds. I...
