SM11b 'Dream League,' Japan's August Set!

I only bring it up because it's been a universal property of attacks with upsides or downsides, and part of the reason why those strategies haven't been very effective because the solution to all of them is gust them out of the active and every deck in this format plays Guzma (and every deck...

SM11b 'Dream League,' Japan's August Set!

I'd like to point out that the GX attack condition says that it prevents effects of attacks onto each of your Pokemon. Probably doesn't change the fact that if it gets gusted out of the active then that ability is gone anyway, but that is significantly stronger than only defending self.

    'Cosmic Eclipse,' November's English Set!

Sun & Moon was a cool era. When the first Tag Teams were announced I was actually pretty against them, but seeing them in action I actually grew to like them. I hope Tag Teams get some love for a few more sets, partially because Tag Teams have brought some of the best art I've ever seen in the...

    Discussion They Took our Balls!!!

It reminds me of back when Tapu Lele GX was over 40 dollars for a regular print, and most decks were very interested in running 2-3 of them, but I feel like this is going to get even more out of control. Jirachi that digs 5 for a trainer card is incredibly expensive, Custom Catchers are...

Discussion What is a "healthy meta"?

I'm personally also primarily a Sun & Moon generation player. I came back into the game when Alolan Ninetales GX took some clutch wins and Greninja BREAK and Gardevoir GX were at their prime. Personally I didn't like that meta at all because things like Garbotoxin Garbodor and Trevenant BREAK...

    Discussion Post Rotation Meta predictions

ReshiZard, PikaRom, Naganadel GX (the Unified Minds one), and any of the Tag Team GXs coming out in Unified Minds are meta contenders. Even if it's just for the reason of no one understanding your gameplan because the deck is new and unfamiliar, that's basically the kind of deck I tend to see...

    Discussion They Took our Balls!!!

Pokemon TCG is an incredibly variable spot right now. If I'm not mistaken, this is the first time, potentially ever if not just in a really long time, that a rotation happened before not after Worlds. I expect the prices of Unified Minds singles to be incredibly high for the first 1-2 weeks...

Alt. Format Rayquaza GX with Unified Minds WIP Decklist

Zinnia is a card that came up in discussion with other threads talking about Ray GX. It's a card I thought has potential but also a card that needed testing to verify. Zinnia fundamentally becomes a replacement for Wishful Baton, and it's a card that would replace the 2 copies of Erika's...

Alt. Format Mewtwo & Mew GX Tool Box WIP Decklist

Yeah. I'm still trying to figure out a deck I really want to play post rotation. It's hard to find a match. Rayquaza GX and attack-based acceleration was my favorite playstyle, but it's a shame that it kind of just dies to a bunch of stuff. Haven't really found a deck style that emulates Ray but...

Alt. Format Mewtwo & Mew GX Tool Box WIP Decklist

The thing is I don't think Garchomp & Giratina GX is an attacker that necessarily needs that kind of energy acceleration, especially because, as I stated in that post, none of the attacks involved with it discard energy upon attack, and it has a very good 1 energy attack that helps it follow up...

Alt. Format Mewtwo & Mew GX Tool Box WIP Decklist

I've been thinking about this deck ever since I posted it and looked around at other Mewtwo & Mew GX tool box decks and have seen some of them run a Welder based build and focusing on fire and Reshizard as their primary attacker of choice. I personally prefer my psychic build overall because the...

    'Cosmic Eclipse,' November's English Set!

So if this is our likely last Sun & Moon expansion set and we're moving on to Sword & Shield, that means Jumbo Cards will become legal for play by February for Dynamaxing right?

Alt. Format Mewtwo & Mew GX Tool Box WIP Decklist

Mewtwo and Mew GX is probably my favorite card coming out from Unified Minds mostly because it offers a high level of versatility. It can be splashed into any deck simply for things like weakness coverage (i.e. to not auto lose to water if you're a fire deck) and having a lot more HP (i.e...

    Help Decks for post-rotation

Yes, but not every deck hit for 230 in one swing, 260 with choice band, which is enough to OHKO a PikaRom, and generally anything with up to 260 HP like the new Raichu & Alolan Raichu in Unified Minds. OHKOing PikaRom is a thing ReshiZard can't do anymore without some kind of extra damage from...

Alt. Format Rayquaza GX with Unified Minds WIP Decklist

Now that we have the full Unified Minds set list, I went through it to check up on any Grass, Psychic, Electric GX, or Dragon type Pokemon that might be good for this list, and I found a change that I like. -1 Pikachu & Zekrom GX Tag Team +1 Druddigon -3 Electromagnetic Radar +3 Cherish Ball...

    'Unified Minds,' August's SM11 Set!

I'm a bit surprised they were willing to bring back Forest of Giant Plants in any capacity. I guess it's balanced by the fact that you're throwing a 3 prize Pokemon out into the active and expending your attack for turn on it, but considering we're Ultra Ball-less for now and the fact that...

Alt. Format Rayquaza GX with Unified Minds WIP Decklist

Not really. Zeraora GX, Shuckle, and Tapu Koko Prism all allow you to attach energy any way that you want, and Latias Prism Star is only used specifically when you want the energy on your Rays. It's a really unnecessary card and I've never needed it once from the games that I played with this...

Alt. Format Rayquaza GX with Unified Minds WIP Decklist

Been thinking about all the options I have using Ray GX, and I believe I've come across a decklist that I like for Unified Minds & rotation. Pokemon x14 Rayquaza GX x4 Zeraora GX x2 Shuckle x2 Mewtwo & Mew GX Tag Team x1 Dedenne GX x1 Druddigon x1 Shaymin Prism Star x1 Tapu Koko Prism Star x1...

Help Questions Regarding Mewtwo & Mew GX Tag Team Ability

Appreciate the swift answer. I guess a 3rd bonus question would be that Mew & Mewtwo would take on ALL effects of the attack right? Such as attacks that say "discard 3 energy from this Pokemon" (Latios & Latias GX Tag Team), that discard 3 would come from Mew & Mewtwo if they are the ones...

Help Questions Regarding Mewtwo & Mew GX Tag Team Ability

As the thread title states, I wanted to confirm a few things about the ability of this card, which states the following: This Pokémon can use the attacks of any Pokémon-GX or Pokémon-EX on your Bench or in your discard pile. (You still need the necessary Energy to use each attack.) 1. Does...
