PokéBeach Create-A-Card: Jan. 2015 - Member's Pokemon (Congrats to the Winners!)

RE: PokéBeach Create-A-Card: Jan. 2015 - Member's Pokemon Well you can either ask or snoop. I like snooping because it doesn't spoil the surprise. You can also make a card based on specific aspects of certain users, like their style of fakes, or art, or the kind of posts they make on...

TCG Fakes Reggie McGigas's Image-Based Fake Cards: Wailmer and Wailord

RE: Reggie's Works - 32% Complete! [Set 2] Omega Barrage is one of the new "Ancient Traits" released in Primal Clash. It's an ability-esque mechanic. Pokemon with Omega Barrage can attack twice in sequence (use an attack, then use another attack, one after the other with no actions (except...

Collecting The "Card Collector Help" Thread

Not really alphabetical, but you can achieve something similar by going throw Bulbapedia's listings for cards by Pokemon. (Such as for Bulbasaur) and looking at the cards with no entry in the English release column. Then, use the convenient pointers at the top of the page to sequentially do this...

    OU: Strategy Precision of Play

There are actual absolute answers to some of the questions in this thread. The science of this exact topic is game theory. Here are some of the major conclusions (without any proof or detailed explanation. sorry, but to learn this much has taken months of research): NOTE: This post is HUGE...

    Weakness Policy

I've always liked cards that could remove weakness, but there's always a cost to that. It's usually something robust yet inconsistent (like Leavanny LTR) or splash-able yet easily countered (like Shadow Circle). Weakness Policy represents the latter of those, reaching new heights in...

Collecting The "Card Collector Help" Thread

RE: Best Way to Store EX Cards and Other Cards of That Sort. Applying sleeves to a card only protects it so far. After 3 layers of protection (perfect-fit sleeve -> standard sleeve -> top loader, in alternating directions), there is no real advantage to adding more. However, there are still...

OLD: The Fake Card Resources and Help Thread

With Owner's Pokemon as our new CaC theme, I've run into a problem doing preliminary layout work. I'm having trouble fitting long names into the name bar with Stage 1/2 blanks: It tends to overflow a lot... So I looked at some more recent cards to see how they handle this. The only cases I...

PokéBeach Create-A-Card: Jan. 2015 - Member's Pokemon (Congrats to the Winners!)

RE: PokéBeach Create-A-Card: Jan. 2015 - Member's Pokemon I would like to join the image-based portion of the contest. Also, a reminder to everyone not to get their feelings hurt. This whole contest is about laughing at ourselves.

PokéBeach Create-A-Card: Nov. 2014 - Team M's/A's Pokemon — Congratulations to the winners!

It's nice to finally see the results from last month's contest, though I absolutely understand the trouble you went through to get them done at all. I appreciate it! And I appreciate the advice on my art. I'll try using more dynamic poses in the future, and perhaps more interesting backgrounds...

Mega Kangaskhan EX to be Obsolete?

Weakness policy is another considerable alternative. It doesn't sacrifice the same degree of consistency that adding in a Stage 2 line does for just one matchup. That said, it's also less robust, and conflicts with the obvious Spirit Links. I would imagine teching in any Fire type attacker...

TCG Fakes NameBlank's Stuff (Swanna-EX Done!)

RE: NameBlank's Fakes (Xerneas & Zygarde, Yveltal & Zygarde Legends Done!) (NameBlank vs. GadgetJax!) Fighting is abbreviated "F", not "T". And Fire is "R", not "F". Also, Yveltal and Zygarde LEGEND seems underpowered. Perhaps make Hidden Trap do 90?

    Card Sleeve Discussion

I generally get mine off of either Amazon or eBay. Both tend to have rather similar prices, but comparing one to their other can net you a somewhat better deal. They tend to be ~$5 USD per pack of 100.

ORAS (XY 5) and What It Might Mean for the TCG

It may be playable in Expanded, where it can stop the effects of DRX Accelgor's Deck-and-Cover, but Virizion-EX already filled this roll to some degree. It can also block the effects of Dialga-EX's Chrono Wind, which may be useful for the Metal-weak Xerneas-, Florges-, and M Gardevoir-EX.

    Avatar: The Legend of Korra

Alright. I abandoned this thread due to lack of personal time, but I feel obligated to at least write something for the series finale of my favorite show. Honestly, I couldn't have asked for more. Even though I'm sad that Avatar is over once more, I'm glad it ended this way. To all of you...

    Ω Barrier

RE: O Barrier I think an important thing to note here is that Togekiss PLS, whose Bright Veil ability was worded very similarly to Omega Barrier's current translation, actually did block the effects of Pokemon Catcher, which was worded identically to the current Lysandre. This most likely...

    Card Sleeve Discussion

Standard playing sleeves (the kind that usually have the colored backs) will fit in most pocket binder sleeves. Since you're not playing, I might recommend using a cheaper brand such as Ultra-Pro (they still make very good sleeves, but to many players they are often considered to be not as good...

    Card Sleeve Discussion

Minor miscommunication. Putting two cards that are already in sleeves back-to-back in another sleeve or pocket in a binder sheet is generally fine, other than perhaps stretching out that outer sleeve a bit. What's dangerous is putting to cards directly in contact within the same sleeve...

XY5 'Gaia Volcano' and 'Tidal Storm' Leaking! [12/10]

While Kingdra seems impressive on paper, it's somewhat lackluster in our current format. There isn't really any engine in place with which to build a deck for Kingdra, and it's not really good enough to stand on its own. Sure it's great once you set up, but setting up is particularly difficult...

    Card Sleeve Discussion

Both sleeves are likely of relatively similar quality, but I would probably bet on the Japanese sleeves being marginally better, if for no reason other than TPCi having generally lower quality products compared to TPC Japan. That said, and has been discussed above, I would recommend...

    Card Sleeve Discussion

I meant that they don't protect against scratches as well as regular sleeves. Since they're thinner, and tighter to the surface of the card, it doesn't take as sharp of an impact to cause a dent or scratch. This is why you should never use perfect fit sleeves alone when playing with cards...
