So... The supposedly-going-to-become-Grass/Dark Pokemon, Quilladin, is named... Quilladin. As in paladin. Which, both historically and as a common roleplaying character model, are high-ranking, virtuous knights. Mmmyeah, I wasn't convinced of Grass/Dark before, and now I'm REALLY not convinced...

Well, at least Pyroar actually looks like a lion, now that we actually have a good look at it. I could never buy Luxray as a lion even though it's got a mane. The round face and huge ears aren't very lion-like at all. But, I'm still waiting for a really good Fire type from this gen :B

I said themes, not design details. Tepig was unspecialized and only looked like a Fire type so Pignite was annoying, but not nonsensical. You could arguably say that Prinplup looked like it was maybe headed towards Water or Water/Ice, but it doesn't learn any moves that point in that direction...
