The new move Freeze Dry is confirmed to be super-effective on Water Pokémon. It seems it just freezes any non-Water Pokémon, as seen here with Tyrantrum: The Freeze animation looks amazing, I have to say.

RE: Rumors & Speculation I think it'll work like Curse, a move that has a different effect depending on the user's type, but instead Freeze Dry depends on the foe's type. If it's a Water type, it deals super effective damage, if it's something else, it freezes the Pokémon.

Pokémon X & Y are only 1.7 GB, the 3DS can easily handle an entire game in 3D. It's just easier to make a 2D game, it saves both time and money. Besides, the overworld is mostly viewed from an top view, 3D wouldn't add that much to the entire experience.

Offense is as well tied to the Pokémon; STAB, you cannot just overlook a 50% boost in attack power. True, Ice moves can be used by numerous Pokémon, but Ice Pokémon can utilise them a lot better. Defensively it isn't great, but I don't really care. I guess I would make sense if it resisted...
