Steven would probably be a better turn 1 choice than Pokémon Fan Club. Cynthia would allow you to see a lot more different cards. Maybe +3 Cynthia, +1 Steven -2 Fan Club and -2 DCE or -1 Metal and -1 DCE? You could always swap out a single Copycat and single Judge instead of the energy.

That’s a good idea, but I’m worried about what to do if I get pitted against a Xurkitree GX. Any ideas? Will the Escape Ropes and Guzma be enough, or will that hamper my ability to get a good matchup later in the game too much?

Which cards were you wondering about? I use the draw ability Oranguru and the Turtonator that has 130 HP and a 70 attack for a fire and DCE. All of the Pokémon are from Sun & Moon on.

Thanks! I love the ability. I don’t know that it’s a good fit for this deck though, just because I’d be adding yet another dark-weak two-prize card. However, I may try that at some point in the future, depending on what other options emerge and what my budget is along the way.
