    How To Counter VileGar

@Shaymin Lv.X: I'm talking about the discard effect with Darkness Slugger to reduce Poltergeist damage, not about Dark Burial.

    Tangrowth the underated

So I suppose Tangrowth is the new Cure gar? Seriously, tangrowth is a semi-competitive fun deck, but it's just not fast enough to keep up with the meta. Last format, FlyGrowth/Flying Spaghetti Monster was a pretty cool deck, but it needed Claydol. Granted, Tangrowth can abuse Engineer's, but...

    How To Counter VileGar

An important advantage of Absol G Lv.X as a VileGar Counter is that it allows you to discard some trainers with Dark Slugger

    Blazechomp - Seniors - Cities

Loses to Gyarados unless they can't get their Warp Energies. This doesn't really need Mewtwo, because offensively, BlazeChomp is the best SP deck in the format, and IMO, disruptive variants are superior. So -1-1 Mewtwo, +1-1 Staraptor FB LV.X (also counters Donphan nicely, can discard Gyarados's...

Something like a counter deck ?

I'd go with DialgaChomp with a 1/1 Toxitank combo and 2 Quagsire GL instead of your SP matchup techs. I know it is unorthodox (the 2 Quagsires part, not the deck itself), and hard to play, but it wins against KingChamp as soon as you get through the macheaps, and it beats all the other matchups...

    Techs in DialgaChomp

In fact, the new cards have made machamp easier to beat for SP's. Machamp Prime doesn't brutally murder any SP pokemon for just one energy. It takes 4 energy to OHKO most SP's. You can easily deal with 2 SF Champs, especially if you have the ToxiTank combo set up early. Also, Power Spray and...

    Compost Deck - (City's, Masters)

Unown R is cheap and helps your speed. Prof Oak's New Theory and Volkner's Philosophy are nice Drawpower, and both easy to get because they are uncommon. If you play a lot of energy, Engineer's Adjustments is one of the best draw supporters in the game. Pokedex handy 910 is a good addition to...

The oddest opponents thread! Gather 'round and share the experience!

Dutch Nationals 2010, Top 8, Seniors. My opponent: Plays LunaRock, slightly overweight, wearing a huge orange inflatable football crown, constantly swearing at his deck. Took me some effort not to laugh out loud until the game was finished.

    Machamp SF and Yanmega?

^There is no reason to run more than 1 Ditto. In fact, unless you have real problems with Gengar, you shouldn't even play one. It helps against some decks, but it often turns into an easy prize.

    Compost Deck - (City's, Masters)

Illumise, Venusaur, Amulet Coin and Bill's Maintenance are all illegal in the current modified format, and you have too many random Trainers. From what you have now, there are two semi-competitive ways to go: You could try and build Leafeon + Roserade (Leafeon UD does 50 times the number of...

    PurpleJolt - Seniors - Cities

You can't run 5 Bebe's Search, maximum 4 of any non-basic energy/Arceus card. Also, try not to run pyramid (3-2-1) lines of pokemon, they leave you with a bunch of useless basic pokemon. And try to focus your deck around 1 pokemon line and support it - Magnezone would be a good choice, because...

    Teching against Umbreon UD

Espeon MD boosts all eeveelutions' HP by 20, 90+20[belt]+20[espeon]=130

    Yanmega Prime

Run 1-1 Blaziken FB LV.X to counter Dialga G. Otherwise, this deck gets completely screwed by it.

why does everyone like lunatone SV and solrock TR so much?!

lol @ lunarock is snipe bait for Chomp X. Obviously, you play the SV lunatone, which protects your Lunatones and Solrocks from all attacks of LV.X's. Of course, that also gets canceled by Dialga, but running Drifblim UD or other anti-Dialga techs is no problem for most decks.

why does everyone like lunatone SV and solrock TR so much?!

I don't get how Gyarados spreads, but if you have room for the LunaRock combo and you play a spread deck, you should definitely consider playing them

Next rotation: Uxie LA out. What do we do?

To answer the original question of this thread (drawpower), I think starters like Jirachi RR or Spiritomb AR will become standard, and decks with high energy counts might run Electrode Prime + Twins for energy attachment and search, but that's more of a tech than a real engine.

    Giratina spread, master possible Cities.

Reduce your LunaRock combo. But even with lucario, you're probably going to lose to any machamp deck with more than 1 macheap SF. Also, replace 1 giratina with the Let Loose Giratina, and take out the Judges for Seekers.

why does everyone like lunatone SV and solrock TR so much?!

actually, Obamasnow doesn't hit your own bench. Snow play hits all of your opponent's pokemon that aren't grass or water type. So unless it has been errata'd, it doesn't hit your own bench. @wang: Obama is Abomasnow in general, and usually Abomasnow from Stormfront.

    promogon Z deck (seniors, cities)

I really don't think you need 2-2 Dialga. You can Level it up with with Learning as soon as you've got it on your bench, so run a 2-1 line at most, 1-1 if you don't care about (maybe) having to use your azelf for it. 2-2 takes more space and doesn't make it much easier to set up.

Mega Lock (Yanmega LA/Raichu GL) Cities, maybe, Seniors

This looks really interesting, but I think Ampharos has lost most of its value now claydol is out of the format. Uxies don't get locked by amphy, so -2-2-2 Ampharos, -1 Pokemon Collector, +2 Mesprit, +1 Poketurn, +3 Super Scoop Up, +1 Uxie LV.X. Mesprit will slow your opponent more than...
