I know for a fact there was an error on one of the early printings of the original Jungle set. They forgot to put the set logo (a little flower) in the spot where it goes. It got fixed quickly...but those versions with the missing set icon are very rare

In the B/J/F sets, the first cards in the set were the rarest. So in Jungle, the first cards listed are Holo Clefable, Holo Electrode, Holo Flareon, etc...there were 16 holos in jungle, then they started the same list in non holos @ #17 Funny how its backwards now, all of the secret rare cards...

#2 in the set was the holo card. #18 was the non holo. Back in the first couple sets, the holo rare and non holo rare were 2 different cards in the set In the 2 electrode pics you posted, the reason why hhe background art is different, is that one depicts a holo background

I wanna see this. I know in other mediums (coins/currency/baseball cards) getting a miscut/double printed item is rare and increases the value. Idk about pokemon tho

Lol the game was so different back then. I remember there being a formula for attacks/cost to see of a Pokémon was viable. It was, 10 DMG per colorless, 15 per specific. Ex: Hitmonchan had a basic attack, one fighting energy for 20 damage....THAT WAS A HIGH VALUE ATTACK!!! lol oh how the game...

I'd say get your deck together first. Sleeves are a must, pick ones you think look cool. As for upgraded cards, once you have the deck built, then you can hunt for the FA/SR versions and swap them. Basically.....make sure you buy the car before you buy the Rims...

If you have no intention on using them outside of friendly matches, then go for it. It will give you an overall idea of good battle mechanics that go into successful decks. Use the parts you like when making a legal deck later on.
