Discussion Puzzle of Time Viability - How Good is it?

If it's a DCE-heavy deck like Night March, it's absolutely worth the spot. I wouldn't put it in every deck, but in a deck where you need those sorts of resources back, absolutely.

What Would you Ban in the Format to Make it Better?

Double Colorless Energy is probably the only one that I would agree with. Even then, I'd probably rather go for a limit rather than an outright ban. So many Pokemon can do huge damage with just a DCE or DCE + 1 Energy. That said, if DCE is banned I'd rather have some more type-specific Energy...

Blog All I Do is Thin: The Buzz on Battle Compressor

Battle Compressor adds consistency and makes the game rely less on luck and hoping you draw into energy, one-of Supporters etc. The only deck that's majorly broken atm because of it is Night March - Vespiplume is a problem too but nowhere near as big an issue as Night March. So you ban Battle...

    Talonflame BREAK, Captivating Pokepuff Promos!

2 Energy for 150 is by no means bad, it's just getting the card out that's the problem. Plus I can't think of any time they've printed a decent Talonflame card to use it with.

Blog Busting In! A Look at Dragonite-EX / Bats

Nice article, I appreciate reading about a bit of a twist on a deck even though I'm not playing competitively atm, and I don't think 10th place is bad at all - I think it's a very good position. "The only thing that can break a world filled with the same thing is something different" is also my...

New 'Premium Champion' Set, Blastoise Mega Battle Special Pack!

Unfortunately, I can see that possibility too. And I really hope it's not the case because the format will just remain the same unless specific counters are printed to specific cards.

New 'Premium Champion' Set, Blastoise Mega Battle Special Pack!

Considering the sheer amount of reprints in this set, I'm starting to think this is a way for players to get cards to use when Expanded becomes XY-on.

Discussion Most Underrated Card in Pokemon TCG

Cassius in certain decks, absolutely. I used to love it in ToadTina, being able to shuffle a damaged Toad away for Giratina lock, or vice-versa.

Expanded Team Plasma (Thundurus EX / Deoxys EX / Lugia EX)

3-4 Ultra Balls are crucial in most decks, so you should make room for them where possible. If you cut most of the Team Plasma Balls, you're able to Ultra Ball for Hoopa and grab 3 TP Pokemon anyway.

New 'Premium Champion' Set, Blastoise Mega Battle Special Pack!

The NM print could always be like the Mewtwo-Darkrai decks, where it's just a reprint of the PHF Night Marchers. If not, and they are actually reprinting those cards, I think it's the stupidest move they could possibly make. Well okay, except if they reprinted Trevenant XY.

Standard Mill Bomb (Weezing / Bunnelby)

Nice deck! Weezing certainly looks like a very fun card. Have you considered potentially using Breakpoint Durant as a backup miller? With some Rainbow Energy to damage the Durants for their 2nd attack, you could replace your Psychic for Grass and potentially get rid of the Bunnelbys. I suppose...

Discussion Ways to Heal Altaria-EX Consistently?

I would say use Ariados, Jynx and probably Fighting Fury Belts for Altaria, just to make sure your HP doesn't get low enough for something to finish it off easily. You could potentially play Max Potion, but then you'd have to run some way of getting DCEs back.

Japan's XY10 Set: 'Awakening of Psychic Kings,' Alakazam!

I'm guessing they couldn't use "Spoon Bending" for legal reasons? Kinesis will do.

    Vileplume Variants

Vespiquen/Vileplume is a popular competitive variant. Other partners include Miltank (FLF), Regice (AOR), and my personal favourite, Noctowl (Breakthrough). I think that with Vileplume, you don't want to run any Pokemon that require energy acceleration, because that requires drawing into pieces...

    Discussion XY10 M Alakazam EX

Ah, what I meant was that the damage comes from placing damage counters using Alakazam. If that's disrupted in some way, the deck can't do damage anywhere near as easily. Wobbuffet still relies on placing damage counters, so it has the same issue. However, Wobbuffet/Alakazam may still be a great...

    Discussion XY10 M Alakazam EX

lol if Garbodor had O Barrier it'd be the best card in format (maybe). I think it's worth teching for Garb, maybe a Xerosic and a Head Ringer. It is also weak to Psychic though, so if you put any number of damage counters on it (with Alakazam, Crobat, etc) you can Lysandre it up and KO it...

    Discussion XY10 M Alakazam EX

I think it's got loads of potential. Turn 2, if you get an Alakazam powered up and get the ability off, all you need is an Absol (ROS) and you're hitting Mega-level damage: 1. Evolve into Mega, 2 on Active and 3 on Bench. 2. Bench Absol, move 3 to Active. (5 DC on active) 3. Zen Force for 5 x 3...

    Hints at Next Years Rotation

I also think Battle Compressor should be reprinted, as it allows for a number of diverse and fun plays (Battle Compress 2 DCE, use 2 Time Puzzle, essentially a free "search your deck for 2 cards"). As long as Night March goes, it won't be quite as broken. I'm praying that rotation is PRC-on...

TCG Fakes double o squirtle's Text-Based Fakes - Lurking Shadows

Really liking your cards so far. They're well-written and have creativity, which is what I think is most important. I'm looking forward to your new set!

    Discussion Greninja Discussion Thread

It's a decent deck, far better than I thought it would be, but yeah any kind of ability lock can really drop its momentum if you haven't teched for it. Once Garbodor's out, for example, the deck just really slows down and there doesn't seem to be a huge amount of deck space for teching.
