Protection Cube doesn't protect Minior, it reads "Prevent all damage done to the Pokémon this card is attached to by attacks it uses." while Minior just knocks itself out (not doing damage to itself).

I think Oricorio will be pretty useful for Mega Rayquaza builds actually. Early game it means you can search it, place it down and then Sycamore meaning you have energy in the discard pile to Mega Turbo in your next hand, and it gives you the extra 30 damage.
