    Discussion Ho-Oh-GX GX Uses (Standard)

Getting incineroar into the discard is kinda hard in standard. It seems to me like the best Ho-oh GX deck would focus on using Kiawe turn 1, using Turtonator's GX attack to set up your other Ho-ohs once the first one goes down and/or using elixirs to set up a second ho-oh and using things like...

News Massive 'Premium Trainer's XY Collection' Releasing in November!

Well this is the dumbest thing I've read in a while. I understand saying this about the Charizard and Ho-oh boxes, but this box is purely a set of cards that have already been released with all of their artwork. These are purely new card artworks. The reason the cards retain their original set...

News Pokemon GO Fest 'A Complete Disaster'

They utilize pokemon branding, but the event is only a mess because niantic is bad at planning. TCPI has a copyright on the concept of pokemon, but they didn't plan the event.

News August's English TCG Set: 'Burning Shadows'

Except they don't. They make the meta more consistent, but you can only use one supporter per turn and attack once per turn and attach one energy per turn. Max elixir can speed up the meta, but otherwise, the reason the meta has been so fast is because TCPI printed a ton of good basic pokemon...

News August's English TCG Set: 'Burning Shadows'

Toad didn't have to deal with easily getting hit for weakness by one of the most popular decks in the format. When toad was around, items were a LOT stronger.

News August's English TCG Set: 'Burning Shadows'

Ho oh GX seems really strong. In expanded with blacksmith, it'll be even stronger. With Battle compressor, I can't imagine ho oh decks not running Charizard GX as a tech occasionally. (Though incineroar is probably better)

    Discussion Reshiram from Shining Legends

Ho oh GX's gx attack only revives EX and GX fire types. How are you planning on getting Reshiram down to 10 hp? If you want to use reshiram, you're probably just stuck slapping it into a Volcanion deck as a single-prize attacker.

News August's English TCG Set: 'Burning Shadows'

With the start of the GX era, you're gonna have a bunch of old time pokemon TCG fans look at the new cards and think "Man, I know I have Gardevoir and Gardevoir EX, but I don't have gardevoir GX yet! I should buy a bunch of that!" It just makes sense for them to print a ton of fanservicy GX's...

News August's English TCG Set: 'Burning Shadows'

Charizard is supposed to be a fanservice card. It deals ridiculous amounts of damage and mills ridiculous amounts of cards, but they don't want it to be overpowered, so it just has ridiculous costs.

Raging out is kinda silly, but it's not actively bad like Peerless Hundred Blows GX.

Standard Shining Wyvern Lock (Noivern/Shining Mew)

You have "1x Brigette" listed twice. I'm adamant that Wicke is just a bad card, on account of the fact that she's only usable in the vast minority of hands, so not sure I agree with using it. Marshadow is just to copy Shining Mew's attack?

News August's English TCG Set: 'Burning Shadows'

Ah, the good old "it's not bad, you just need a special strategy" thing. Seviper just isn't good. It's best with salazzle, but salazzle is best used with muk, who already hits the damage numbers you need. When you're going that far out of your way for seviper to only deal 10 extra damage...

News America's November Set: 'Crimson Invasion,' Two Ultra Beast Premium Collections!

I don't like the idea of having a set where the people that don't like UB's have no GX's to look forward to, but that special energy announcement looks exciting.

News Japan's SM3+ Set: 'Shining Legends!'

The different types in the game have their own little niches. Water types get boatloads of utility support, Psychic types get scaling damage, Fighting types are bad, Fire Types have a gimmick around constantly sending energy cards into and out of the discard pile. Makes sense that the fire...
