News September's SM4 Set: 'The Awoken Hero' and 'The Transdimensional Beast'

    1. Ranger is not a common card in Volc nowadays. 2. If it was, what are the odds they can have consistent access to it now that Seeker is gone. 3. Jolteon forces your opponent into a situation where they are completely incapable of winning the game unless they use a certain supporter card for...

News September's SM4 Set: 'The Awoken Hero' and 'The Transdimensional Beast'

With the right memory, you hit for 240, so you'll want to have every relevant weakness covered. Fairy memory is unnecessary, since dragons suck. Dark memory won't be very good. Same with fighting memory and electric memory. Psychic memory doesn't help you one-shot garb, so probably not worth...

News September's SM4 Set: 'The Awoken Hero' and 'The Transdimensional Beast'

Silvally is only one attacker. If you choose not to run a secondary attacker, there's your space. If you do run a secondary attacker, that's 1 fewer memory type you need in your deck.

Setting up a stage 2 in order to power up a different stage 2 to one-shot things isn't good. See: Metagross/solgaleo

News September's SM4 Set: 'The Awoken Hero' and 'The Transdimensional Beast'

The opposite is true. You want a slow deck that gives up early prizes so that you can consistently be behind your opponent, but also have pokemon that are hard to knock out so that you can catch back up in prizes. So stage 2 decks like garde.

News September's SM4 Set: 'The Awoken Hero' and 'The Transdimensional Beast'

I would like to remind you that this stadium only prevents your opponent from removing status effects by evolving pokemon. This stadium is 100% useless unless you apply a status condition to an unevolved pokemon that your opponent intends to evolve. How often does that happen?

Yes, that's ultra space. Its where you fight lusamine.

Standard M Alakazam Deck Post Rotation

Po town is good, don't get rid of it. I would cut a skyla for a guzma, and maybe cut delinquent for a sycamore or N.

News September's SM4 Set: 'The Awoken Hero' and 'The Transdimensional Beast'

What if they play their hand down to one card and that last card isn't a supporter? It's not like someone is going to choose to NOT use a bunch of good cards in their hand just because they don't have a supporter. Then you're wasting a card on nothing. Even if your opponent has a supporter...

News September's SM4 Set: 'The Awoken Hero' and 'The Transdimensional Beast'

Oh hey look a bad card. Half the time you use this card, it may as well just say "Look at your opponent's hand", and the other half of the time, your opponent is still half likely to end up with an above average hand.

News September's SM4 Set: 'The Awoken Hero' and 'The Transdimensional Beast'

*Release a couple of steel-type pokemon* IS THIS A GARDE COUNTER? They're going to keep releasing steel types. In other news, they're also going to keep releasing water types to counter volc, and electric types to counter yveltal EX, and grass types to counter Kingdra. Man, aren't all those...

News September's SM4 Set: 'The Awoken Hero' and 'The Transdimensional Beast'

Stage 2 Pokemon take 3 turns to set up, and require using really weak unevolved Pokemon that your opponent can easily take a prize off of. Then they require 3 cards instead of just 1 like basic ex/gx, and you start to wonder why regular stage 2's haven't had 180 HP for a while now.

News September's SM4 Set: 'The Awoken Hero' and 'The Transdimensional Beast'

Accelgor is only good because it paralyzes while also allowing you to switch out into a pokemon that locks your opponent. If wobb/Stoutland/etc. didn't exist, accelgor would be pretty bad, and accelgor is a stage 1 that hits for 40 more damage. Mismagius doesn't hold a candle to giratina...

News September's SM4 Set: 'The Awoken Hero' and 'The Transdimensional Beast'

Why evolve up into this in order to do 30 damage while paralyzing in hopes of doing another 60 damage when you could just hit for 120 up front with Golisopod or hit for 20 without attacking with decidueye? 10 damage + poison + paralysis is not worth using your attack for the turn, especially on...

Discussion Ok, Mismagius (Crimson Invasion) is Broken in Expanded

Using dimension valley to accelerate a mediocre second attack when you could be accelerating something like silent fear or black ray isn't broken in any way. Chaos wheel is the only good part of mismagius. Don't pretend otherwise.

News September's SM4 Set: 'The Awoken Hero' and 'The Transdimensional Beast'

It's providing every combination of 2 energy at once, but only 2 energy total. It's weird wording, but it means that, if you have a pokemon that needs 2 water energy to attack, you can use the attack while also benefiting from things like Magearna EX. It's only 2 energy, but it counts as water...

News September's SM4 Set: 'The Awoken Hero' and 'The Transdimensional Beast'

"Ends your turn after using it" isn't "Slightly" weaker. Turn 1 Brigette is a huge part of lele's power as a card, and xerneas doesn't really help with that at all.
