News August's English TCG Set: 'Burning Shadows'

With ribombee you don't need THAT much energy in your deck. I think people are overemphasizing Diancie. I think Sylveon GX as a pseudo-Alolan Vulpix alongside ribombee and the gardevoir line could be pretty good.

    Standard Lurantis GX/Yveltal EX

Why does the deck have to revolve around basic energy? The only reason you NEED basic energy is because you need dark energy for yveltal and your accelerator only hits basic energy, but that doesn't mean you CAN'T run DCE's. If you get rid of lurantis entirely, then you can bump up to 9...

News Japan's SM3+ Set: 'Shining Legends!'

It's still a shining pokemon. Whether or not it's a promo isn't really important. They proved with the promo that not all shining pokemon would be mythical.

Do you think Ho-oh is a mythical pokemon or did you just miss that one?

News Japan's SM3+ Set: 'Shining Legends!'

Necrozma GX hits for the same amount for only 3 psychic energy instead of 4 of two different types of energy, and discards the same amount. And is immune to colorless. And has more HP. And has a good secondary attack.

Pretty sure it's the next core set that's introducing ultra beasts. This set shouldn't have any.

News Japan's SM3+ Set: 'Shining Legends!'

It seems decent. Shuffling and drawing to 4 isn't nearly as good as drawing to 6, especially in the combo-centric decks that would most appreciate more draw power. I could totally see some kind of turbo deck in expanded maybe using it since it's only 1 prize or some other reason, but in...

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

Wicke isn't close to Hala or N. You shouldn't be putting unplayable cards in your deck. You should be able to use up most of the cards in your hand most of the time. Yes, there will be situations where your hand is just stuck full of cards that can't be used due to luck, but those occurrences...

The leak with the aether-gladion concept art was confirmed fake by the artist of that art, if that's what you're referring to.

    News 8-Minute 'Pokémon Direct' Tomorrow!

The switch seems to be their attempt to blend mobile gaming with console gaming. Having their largest mobile gaming franchise on the switch would make sense. Remakes of previous pokemon games would be, by far, the easiest option for getting a main series game on the switch, and gen 4 remakes...

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

Dragons require two different types of energy. DDE is a crutch designed to help them actually manage to get the energy they need. Colorless pokemon are the opposite, where they can use literally any type of basic energy, meaning they can hypothetically be slotted into any deck. DCE also works...

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

That partially because of how bad dragon is as a type. You don't hit anything for weakness and you need two different kinds of energy to attack, and generally you have higher attack costs than other types to fit within the theme of dragons being slow to power up but unstoppable. Dragons are at...

Discussion Does Garb affect the meta in a good way? Or a bad way?

That doesn't mean the game is more balanced, that just means it's less optimized. Give people a few months to sort out the best supporter/item counts and it'll go back to the way it was, with one skeleton dominating them all with slight variations. The idea that every part of the game needs to...

Discussion Does Garb affect the meta in a good way? Or a bad way?

It MIGHT slow down the format. But do you want a slower format where your deck is either running garb, playing to beat garb, or both, with no other decks being viable, or do you want a format where the cards that push the game to be faster don't really exist? The reason the format is so fast...
