i meant that the deck likely will have some draw support items like Level Ball or Evosoda (in addition to Ultra Ball). those would be the draw support (not Crobat). in case you want to run something else like Vileplume.

Thats always the tricky part of the best of 1. Even the best decks, best players can have a bad draw. it happens. just choose the deck you personally feel is consistent, play test, and make sure you are familiar with the ins and outs of how to run it against different opponents.

The hard part with this type of deck is that you don't have a lot of damage output.... outside of bats. so the Laser Virbank will help. especially if you can get the active asleep. sooner or later... an opponent will likely get a Stage 1 GX up or another attacker that only takes 1 Energy.

The tricky part with Toad is that you will be forced to choose between Sableye or Toad. and you'll need to tweak your deck list to include some DCE for toad. Vileplume will take a few turns... but you have some built in draw support in bats already.

sometimes... too much variety is not a good thing. with kids, they sometimes like too many cards and want to put in a little of everything. so keep in mind that x6 will initially be prized. maybe try to add in a few more draw support items like ultra ball and of course.... play test and play...

in some ways, think of pokemon like chess. it takes quite a few games just to get a good handle of the game mechanics. maybe 20+ games... before you don't have to think about the mechanics and they become 2nd nature. once you get the mechanics down... you can devote more of your gameplay...

There usually isn't much you can do regarding "spectating". All spectators are usually kept away from the players tables. as stated, there are vendor tables. and there are typically side events that you can participate in. but I wouldn't recommend driving a long distance just to spectate.
