Japan's XY11: 'Explosive Fighter / Cruel Traitor', CP5: 'Mythical / Legendary Dream Holo Collection'

When TPCi decided to make Night March, and to a lesser extent, Vespiqueen/Flareon. Basically, Gardevoir is still good, but it's not degenerate, so why play something that's "fair" when there's so many degenerate decks out there? I mean, playing just for fun or kitchen table pokemon, it's fine...

Japan's XY11: 'Explosive Fighter / Cruel Traitor', CP5: 'Mythical / Legendary Dream Holo Collection'

Well, there goes my plans for Mega Gardevoir. She's absolutely awful now, even if she can attack for 0 energy. Hope Mega Steelix is good though, being both steel and fighting is excellent, all that fighting support, and Bronzong to accelerate metal energies onto him.

Discussion What is your new "go to" supporter line?

My baseline supporter line up is 2 Sycamore 2 N 2 Lysandre 1 Hex Maniac 1 Skyla That's the bare bones. I add other supporters or more copies of these depending on the deck I'm playing, but I always start with those 8.

Japan's XY11: 'Explosive Fighter / Cruel Traitor', CP5: 'Mythical / Legendary Dream Holo Collection'

While I agree that Gardevoir is powerful...am I the only one who's annoyed at the math on her attack? 110 is a good enough base (though 120 would be much better and solves the math issues I have), but then look at the boosts you get. 140, 170, 200, 230, 260. 170 is just shy of a OHKO on standard...

Decks That Do Not Utilize Shaymin-EX

Delphox and Greninja BREAK can both be built without Shaymin and not suffer too badly for it. Delphox has Delphox XY which literally is Shaymin every turn. Likewise, Greninja has Octillery, which is Shaymin every turn but with 1 less card drawn.

Standard Delphiox BREAK / M Mewtwo EX

I agree with the rest of your post except for this bit. TMC aand Delphox Break don't conflict with each other. Taking energy out of your deck doesn't prevent you from taking energy out of your discard, and vice versa. Though if TMC is run, a slightly higher than normal basic energy count, along...

Discussion Could ROS Gliscor See Competitive Play?

Regirock-EX only boosts the damage done to the active, it doesn't boost the damage done to the bench, 90 HP is very low, and weak to water isn't good in a format with Seismitoad-EX and Greninja BREAK decks. I doubt it'll be that good.

Should TPCi Offer Optional Subscription Service On PTCGO?

Frankly, booster pack codes are pretty cheap. At the extreme end, you're looking at $100 for 216 codes off Tollandtoad. That's 216 packs. Alternatively, $1 per pack, and I forget off the top of my head what the 36 pack lot costs. I wanna say $20. Point is while it is cheaper to offer your...

Ruling Marowak FAC vs Greninja BKP

So I was wondering how Marowak's ability would work against Greninja's Shadow Stitching attack. I'm guessing since the wording of Shadow Stitching specifically mentions Pokemon, the answer would be that Marowak's ability doesn't stop Shadow Stitching's effect. Contrary to say, Seismitoad-EX...

Standard Flame Storm (Delphox BREAK / Shaymin EX)

Some number of Double Colorless Energy would probably help. It works well with Delphox XY10, since it counts as 2 energy for its attack and both Delphox have CCC as a cost, not actually needing Fire Energy. On top of that, it lets you Sky Return with Shaymin, since Blacksmith can't add energy to...

Standard Flame Storm (Delphox BREAK / Shaymin EX)

I'm gonna jump in to agree with the others about the 2-2 split on Delphoxes. I get that Delphox XY10 is considered your main attacker, but Delphox XY1 is better early on, when there's less energy on the field in general. It doesn't care about the opponent's energy, and assuming 3 energy on...

    Troll & Toad or TCGPlayer

Ironically, I've had the opposite experience to the others in the thread. The only tcgplayer store that has had the stuff I was looking for at cheaper prices than Trollandtoad was Super Games Inc, and they didn't generally have the stock TT has. Furthermore, while I haven't had any problems...

    New UltraPRO Eevee Products!

I like the concept but they seem a little too busy. Maybe if the background was white with black silhouettes? or vice-versa. Too much going on in the current design.

Pokemon Japan's Pokemon Center Website Reopening!

I saw the gym badge set and immediately thought "I have to have that". Then I saw the price and was like "I really hope they ship internationally, because buying the badges from an intermediary vendor is gonna be ridiculously expensive" Then I saw it's most likely Japan only and now I'm a sad...

Japan's XY9 Set: 'Rage of the Broken Sky,' New 'Battle Strengthening Sets'

I kinda understand what they're doing here. They're releasing more and more "bad" cards so that when they get around to doing a rotation of BREAKthrough-on, EXs won't be the crazy powerhouses they've been for so long. It's a long term balancing strategy. The only issue is that the rotation...

Standard Dragon Rage (Haxorus / Regirock)

Judge at it's best gets me the same number of cards as Birch at it's worst. That's not consistency, that's choosing to see a lot less cards than I could be seeing. If I'm digging for that last piece to set up, I want to have as high a chance of finding that piece as possible, and Birch is much...

Help The "Is There A Card That Does This?" Thread

Are there any cards in XY-on or even Expanded that prevent supporters from being played then? Lysandre is way more common than Escape Rope.

    Ruling Haxorus BREAKthrough 111

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. Do we have a rules resource on this so we can be 100% sure? This kind of situation isn't described in the rulebook, and an argument can be made that effects being removed when being benched is more because of the pokemon not being an Active anymore and...
