News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

OH MAN! I need to get my hands on one of these! The splattered background is so perfect for this.

    Discussion Embarrassing Deck Mistakes?

I made a similar mistake with pokemon like Salazle who ONLY activate their ability if they were evolved from a card in your hand. I can totally understand that!

    Discussion Embarrassing Deck Mistakes?

What are some mistakes you've made in your decks that you didn't notice until you started playing it? This week I played a tourney in my area. I was playing a Kingdra EX (Fates Collide) deck and got to the finals, only to then have it pointed out by my opponent that I was not able to count...

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

This card absolutely loves Buddy Buddy Rescue. Especially when playing against swarm decks or stuff like Gyarados that try to purposely kill off low-HP pokemon. Combining this with bench sniping Pokemon could make prize cards very easy to pull.

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

Personally, as someone who loves running decks that play with enemy retreat cost and discarding enemy attachments this is going to be a fun card. We just got Alola Dugtrio, which pairs perfectly with it. Not to mention we have stuff like Mystery Energy and Altar of the Moone to help it switch...

News September's SM4 Set: 'The Awoken Hero' and 'The Transdimensional Beast'

Because of how Ultra Beasts and Totem pokemon are linked in the main game (The Ultra Wormhole leak), I'd love to see some strange mechanic that binds them somehow!

News September's SM4 Set: 'The Awoken Hero' and 'The Transdimensional Beast'

Japan hasn't even gotten SM3 yet and they're ALREADY showing people another set? Man, the pokemon company is printing card products like CRAZY lately!

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

Wow, the the set IMMEDIATELY after we got Oricorio for energy searching and it's replaced by something better. It's going to be a great support for energy heavy decks for sure!

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

This would be somewhat useful.. if you didn't have to discard what you're using the Double Dragon Energy for. Might help if you have Gardevoir GX to supply a fairy energy and then play a dark from your hand? I kinda wanna make it work since we finally have a Zygarde that does decent damage but damn.

I'm happy that we finally have a forced switch that also has some sort of determent to make you think twice about when to use it.

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

I definitely agree with you. It's not easy by any means. It's stupid. But frankly, no one I play in my local card shop in St.Augustine plays competitive decks other than Vespiquen, so I don't really run into the trouble of having my energies removed 24/7. Either way I just want to do it because...

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

Burning Energies are this thing's best friend. If you manage to get 3 of them on the guy you pretty much nuke everything. I may be tempted to try running this with that stadium that boosts HP of stage 1/2s alongside Butterfree to keep it alive. Not competitively viable, but could be fun!

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

You shuffle all the cards back into your deck anyways, why would the HP on Butterfree matter if it's leaving the field either way? With how many acceleration options we have for grass these days, it's at least a fairly interesting way to support something else with high HP without removing...

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

I've always wanted healing to be competitively viable and this Butterfree looks particularly interesting! I don't expect it to be popular by any means but I definitely want to make a gimmick around it. Shiinotic and Forest of Giant Plants could make this a fun way to quickly heal off chip damage...

News New 'Battle Arena Decks: Landorus vs. Genesect' in September!

I'm not incredibly fond of these cards. I honestly feel that we have plenty of better options available right now. I can see how that Landorus can pack a punch early game if you draw it, however.

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

Somewhat related, Goodra from Ancient Origins and Guardians Rising both have a gimmick that doesn't rely on having specific types. AO requiring 2 colorless to bench snipe 20 x their retreat cost (something I run with Aqua Base, Boundaries Crossed Jellicent, Glaceon EX, and Manaphy EX) and GR...

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

This looks like a hoot to run with Skull Grunts and Gumshoos GX! Check for the types of cards they have before chosing your attack and block them!

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

I was really hoping to see the game slow down a bit but looks like that hope is getting shattered. Running energy and/or trainer disruption is going to become extremely important if I want to counter fire decks.

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

In the future I feel Ho-Oh will get better. The idea of putting Stage 2 GXs on your bench is pretty crazy, but that limits you to only Pyroar as of now.

Discussion Aqua Patch: What Will You Use?

Do you think Vaporeon will let us abuse Aqua Patch on pokemon that aren't normally water? That would really speed up some of my gimmick decks!
