News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

She was released in SM2+. She should be in our Burning Shadows set.

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

I was kinda hoping for decent stage 1s for Charizard and Gardevior. As it stands, they might as well be named "Rare Candy" because that's how worthless they are.

    Standard Ho-Oh GX/Volcanion GX/Turtonator GX

I'm not sure if Volcanion EX is necessary. Ho-oh GX smacks for 180 (210 with Choice Band) which is enough to OHKO most things in the format, especially since many playable high HP GXs are weak to fire. With Sacred Fire being usable after a Phoenix Burn, you can easily get the follow up KO...

https://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/d/de/Sun_Moon_Wicke.png Here's the problem: Wicke isn't nearly that...uh...voluptuous in her original artwork. She has been SPECIFICALLY altered for some reason that only TPCi knows (though anyone with a brain can easily guess). When you take a character...

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

I definitely see the synergy between Kiawe and Flareon EX, and Kiawe and Ho-oh GX. I don't really see the synergy between Ho-oh GX and Flareon EX. Ho-oh's GX attack is only really useful for getting out EX/GX evolutions. Any basic EXs/GXs can be played straight down and Rescue Stretcher seems...

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

Don't just toss a Pokemon into your deck. You need to look at the strategy of the deck and how the Pokemon compliment each other. What does Ho-oh GX do in your deck that Flareon EX doesn't? Is it useful to your overall strategy?

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

We get Guzma when Lucario comes out. We will still be able to work around Lucario.

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

Just play Ultra Ball or Sycamore, then. I don't know how much more clearly I can state this: If you want discards, Ultra Ball and Sycamore are your best options. Ultra Ball gets you Pokemon to play (or discard) and Sycamore gives you more cards to play (or discard). Plumeria stagnates...

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

To extend an olive branch, I'll admit I was a bit harsh. I'll also admit that I didn't think about Oranguru as a recovery the turn after a Delinquent (I should have). I'll also agree that energy denial is currently not very favorable due to Garbodor. Partly because Crushing Hammer, an item...

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

Don't worry. If your playing Incineroar GX, Garb is the least of your worries. ;) In all seriousness, 1 Ultra Ball isn't going to kill your Garbodor matchup, especially if your main attacker has 250 HP.

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

    1) Define "meta defining". If you mean that everyone plays it, then no, it isn't. But if you mean that EVERY SINGLE pro player plays around it if they can help it, then yes, it is. (Watch OmniPoke on youtube. Joe has secured his invite to worlds and he mentions playing around Delinquent at...

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

Why not just play an Ultra Ball to discard Incineroar GX and perhaps get your Ho-oh GX out at the same time? Now you can play a different supporter, like Kiawe to power up Ho-oh GX.

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

Here's why it's bad: 1) If you have 2 cards in hand, you can't play it. 2) If you have 3 cards in hand, you just put yourself into top deck mode. 3) If you have 4 to 6 cards in hand, you SHOULDN'T play it, because of Delinquent. 4) Deck space is irrelevant, because if you are playing...

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

Not sure if this is really worth it. Discard 2 to discard one energy as your supporter for the turn is kinda bad, especially with Team Flare Grunt being almost as good with no downside and Crushing Hammer being just as good, but with a coin flip and no discard. Also, as long as Delinquent is a...

Wi-Fi Trades 6 IV Ditto Giveaway!

Yeah, if Japan's VCG regionals are any indication, TPCi has found out how to catch hacked mons on your system. Not touching these with a 10 foot pole.

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

Diance, Ribombee, and Gardevior seem like a nice deck, though it could be a bit clunky. Ribombee is nice in general for energy search.

I think that is the highest HP score printed on a basic that doesn't give up 2 prizes.

News Japan's SM3 Sets for the 20th Movie Feature Ho-Oh and Necrozma!

Well, I guess I called it. Obvious synergy with Golisopod GX is obvious. I think I like it better than Lysandre from a balance stand point. Heck, it might even be more powerful than Lysandre. You should have multiple attackers ready to go, so if you want just the Lysandre effect, the...
