“Heat Wave Arena” All 63 Main Set Cards Revealed!

I would like to address the Green Counsel and deliver my proposition on how we might wield Yanmega ex. As long as tech Pokémon are the main counters to Safeguard Pokémon, I believe that Yanmega ex/Crustle could have potential. Yanmega helps you power up a Crustle that can sweep multiprizers and...

Cynthia’s Milotic from “Heat Wave Arena”

"I fear no man. But that thing..." *Six Budew deck* "... it scares me."

Cynthia’s Milotic from “Heat Wave Arena”

If only Cynthia's Roserade increased the damage your Cynthia's Pokémon do to ANY of your opponent's Pokémon. Then we'd at least having something interesting for casual play. Assuming 2 Roserade is reasonable to set up early on, I'm guessing 120 damage to your opponent's Active Pokémon and 90...

Crustle, Dwebble from “Heat Wave Arena”

Honestly, if people are going to play this, I don't really care if it's a duplicate Illustration Rare, Pokémon giving alternative artwork for cards people can be expected to play is a good call, and a playable card not getting an Illustration Rare because a bulk card featuring the same Pokémon...

    Hydrapple from “Heat Wave Arena”

The cool part is we get a lot of those every set too. In Journey Together, for example, Iono’s Bellibolt ex and nine out of the thirteen Illustration Rares feature Pokémon that weren’t previously highlighted on an “alt art” (Fan term for any full art reprint with a more complex illustration than...

    Hydrapple from “Heat Wave Arena”

Mega ex’s: Exist Festival Lead: “And I took that personally.” Seems like the sort of thing where you could play a Superior Energy Retrieval in the late game to use this attack once? You’d probably need extra Energy too, but it might be worth reworking the deck for this sort of thing.

    Hydrapple from “Heat Wave Arena”

Head four threatened to go on strike if he didn’t get a raise. They don’t call it “Fickle Beam” for nothing!

Cynthia’s Garchomp ex Special Illustration Rare Revealed from “Heat Wave Arena!”

Okay, I'm going to address the elephant in the room. The people who are saying the set is a failure are saying it because Ethan's Ho-Oh ex got a less detailed illustration in the same style, only to get card sleeves featuring a beautiful and thematically fitting alternative art style. Meanwhile...

Misty’s Starmie & Misty’s Staryu from “Heat Wave Arena”

Game dev 1: “Here’s a list of Misty’s Pokémon we can use!” Game dev 2: “Tell me you play Pokémon Stadium without telling me you play Pokémon Stadium.” I wish we were getting Misty’s Wigglytuff!

Discussion should Game Freak, focus on making a game that is inovative and fun, or another nostalgia bait? What would be something new and fun to you guys?

We have seen new spin-offs and Legends: Arceus, so I’d say they’ve tried a fair number of innovations. Continuing to find fresh takes on the core series games rather than just repeating the Legends formula would be cool though. Of course, a lot of Pokémon’s spinoffs have been based on existing...

All 96 “Triumphant Light” Cards Revealed for “Pokemon TCG Pocket!”

There’s a real card with that artwork! It has a holo rare variant, too, which is kind of like being layered as it makes the Pokémon seem to pop out of the backdrop. “That will be $16 for a heavily played non-holo or somewhere in the region of $200 to $300 for a holo rare.”

All 96 “Triumphant Light” Cards Revealed for “Pokemon TCG Pocket!”

And the sad part is that Pocket isn't even the only example of beautiful card artwork we'll never get! The cards from Illustrator Magazine, the Breath of the Wild Illustration Rares, most of the original cards from Pokémon: The Path to the Peak (No Bellossom ex? Sad JustInBasil sounds)... and...

“Pokemon Legends: Z-A” To Release in Late 2025, Features Real-Time Battles!

Also, if ORAS Megas are in the game, Hoenn starters are off the table unless they wanted to include all three, as are Kanto starters. Sinnoh might feel a bit recent given you could find them in the wild in the previous legends title, and Kalos starters will likely be found in the wild. So the...

“Pokemon Legends: Z-A” To Release in Late 2025, Features Real-Time Battles!

That’s a fair question. Lore-wise, Snivy honestly would have been more French than either Chikorita or Tepig, and Piplup would also be fitting for the region given Empoleon’s Napoleonic inspiration, but Pokémon starters aren’t necessarily based on their region (As evidenced by the fact that...

“Pokemon Champions” Game Announced for Switch and Mobile, Features Core Pokemon Battles!

Wasn’t it just one additional language, though? That means 10 or 11 languages total. Pokémon GO has 15, and even that is low compared to the 48 languages the anime has been dubbed in over the years, or the 28 languages that Minecraft: Bedrock Edition (Available on phones) supports (Java supports...

“Pokemon Champions” Game Announced for Switch and Mobile, Features Core Pokemon Battles!

Which reminds me, we still don’t know if this is going to be free with purely cosmetic microtransactions, pay-to-win, subscription based, or a flat purchase? (Realistically probably subscription based or pay to win.) Also, will there be any sort of in-game story mode like in, say, Pokémon Duel...

Mega Lucario ex and Mega Gardevoir ex Revealed, Different Than the Original Mechanic!

I’m not ignoring Mega Lucario ex’s stage 2 HP, I’m just saying so far the max HP has only been pushed to 360, but that it could get pushed higher by other Mega Stage 2 ex’s (say, as high as 380 or 400).

Mega Lucario ex and Mega Gardevoir ex Revealed, Different Than the Original Mechanic!

I mean, it’s only 20 more, but Mega Gardevoir ex could always turn out to be on the low side of the stage 2 Mega ex HP curve. (Both M Gardevoir EX had 210 HP when the max for M EX’s was 240.)

Ponyta and Rapidash from Heat Wave Arena!

We’ve seen this ability on cards like Alolan Sandslash GRI and Sawsbuck CEC and it never saw play. This ability would need to be ever so slightly better like Slurpuff PHF and Gholdengo ex, which draw an extra card if you were in the active (Okay, maybe that’s more than just “slightly” better...
