These pretty much debunk it. Just by looking at the footage we have so far we can see that these games are based on the same engine as gen VI. Also all old Pokémon models look the same as they did on the previous generation.

So sad that we get these awesome retro blanks on this set before moving to the hideous Sun and Moon ones. Might pick up some boosters of this set for nostalgia only.

If it triggers the same way as Aftermath, you need to be hit by your opponent just before fainting for it to work. Self damage or passive damage like poison and weather don't trigger it.
