New Zarude Promo in “CoroCoro Ichiban” Magazine!

Once again, like all previous corocoro promos, it is good that this card is nothing special because buying 4 copies of the same magazine for a playset would be silly

“Special Jumbo Card Set Ogerpon” Revealed for May!

Japanese packs are 5 cards each with no guaranteed rare, and generally worse pull rates for secret rares and stuff. Still better value than international packs imo but it's not as big a difference as you might think now that international boosters don't arbitrarily give cards rarity bumps

New Ultra PRO Armarouge and Ceruledge TCG Accessories, Including Table Playmats!

This might just be me, but I feel like the Global Link stock artworks would be a better fit for the Ultra Pro products than the Sugimori artwork. Honestly these really aren't bad though

English Applin and Dipplin Revealed from “Twilight Masquerade!”

I actually doubt this is the case since the Japanese text for Festival Lead is also different than it was for Jumpluff/ LOR Cramorant. It also adds the clause that Dipplin specifically must own the attack, which sounds to me like one printed on the card itself. As far as I'm aware the Japanese...

English Applin and Dipplin Revealed from “Twilight Masquerade!”

Unfortunate, a meta Goldeen/Swirlix deck that just abuses twice-per-turn Turbo Energize/Blindside/Crisis Shot would have been hilarious and maybe a little broken

Creatures’s Textless Pokemon TCG Illustrations for March!

Worth noting that these articles just show off the highlights, there are more regular arts that the account posts each month.

Mysterious New English Promos Listed from Unidentified Product, Including Darkrai ex

In 2022 I would have agreed. But I feel like one of the strengths of the SV era is the high amount of genuinely decent "bulk", mostly due to international packs staying more faithful to the original japanese rarities for each card. Adding in battle academy cards would undo that.

“Twilight Masquerade” Pokemon TCG Set Officially Revealed for May!

Judging by the set size of 167, it looks like June's Battle Academy cards will not be included in this set. Good.

“Pokemon TCG Pocket” Gameplay Differences Analyzed, 40 “Genetic Apex” Cards Revealed So Far!

Meltan's attack looks like "Amass" to me, Guardians Rising Drampa has this attack with a similar effect minus the metal energy part.

? The art or effect? It's an excellent card

    Farigiraf from “Crimson Haze”

Again, like Morpeko from the other day, this is a well-designed uncommon. It does decent enough damage to build a deck around it, or you could squeeze it into any deck already full of stage 1s to hit for psychic weakness. Technically fits in a ton of decks but works best in a deck built for it...

    Morpeko from “Crimson Haze!”

You would just put it back on top of your deck. You took a peek at it, but you didn't change its actual location, it's still "the top card of your deck".

    Morpeko from “Crimson Haze!”

This is what an ideal uncommon should be, usable in a wide variety of decks, and good in a few decks (Miraidon/any deck that looks at the top x cards of the deck for attacks). Funny to see that the two Morpeko from the SV era are arguably better designed than any Morpeko we got in the entirety...

How “Pokemon TCG Pocket” Will Usher in a Massive New Era for the Pokemon TCG

I find it so funny that no matter how little involvement they had with any particular Pokemon game, Game Freak always gets blamed for it by at least a few people. Please read articles before you comment on them.

“Pokemon TCG Pocket” Immersive Collecting App Coming in 2024!

Just noticed that the weakness for these cards is +20, and they removed resistance. not a huge loss to be honest as grass and fighting are the only resisted types now. Just +20 weakness seems quite unimpactful honestly, even with the lower HP values. also. if we could get rid of the off-topic...

“Pokemon TCG Pocket” Immersive Collecting App Coming in 2024!

While I have very little interest in this, it is nice to see retro artworks in higher quality (Slowbro, Hitmonlee Vulpix etc.). Makes me want another expansion like Champion Road with a bunch of buffed reprints from base set through power keepers.

Infernape Line, Pinsir, and New Illustration Rares Revealed from “Crimson Haze!”

In the sea of shallow and uninformed takes on trading card game design I read every day on different sites, this is a great post. I don't agree 100% with everything you said in this thread, but either way thanks for laying out your points in a competent and convincing way.

Infernape Line, Pinsir, and New Illustration Rares Revealed from “Crimson Haze!”

In what format has Rain Dance been unbalanced in? Like genuine question, I can't think of a single time it has been, other than maybe XY purely because of Archie's Ace in the Hole. I won't deny that Infernape's ability is more interesting. But I'm curious as to how you would define unbalanced.
