Wow, I didn't expect my very first entry to be featured in a post, especially considering how at the time I was still taking my first steps in card faking ? (and even now I know there are a lot of things I still have to learn - although seeing all the past entries featured in this thread is...

The addition of sparkles really makes those blanks stand out! And even more appropriate for Shiny Pokémon ✨ Concerning the themes presented in the previous post, I do agree on Pokédex colors being one of the most creative prompts proposed so far. I read that thread while I was searching for...

Seeing all these previous entries and having them contextualized with the history of the contest is really nice, especially for people like me who joined it only recently. While I believe i still lack most of the knowledge of the game through the years to fully appreciate every entry, I feel...

First and foremost, I want to thank @EM-isthmus for bearing with me and my tendency to slapdash things throughout the whole creation process for this card. Having decide to tackle the illustration and the graphic aspects of the work, here's my share of annotations on the matter:

Unfortunately I have to pass for this time T_T. Some IRL stuff came up so I most definitely won't be able to make it for this month :(

Yeah, I always had the same impression, with color cost being either based on secondary/related types (see Dragalge using Water energies as it evolves from Water-type Skrelp). The coiche to use Grass instead of Darkness is also wired considering Appletun and Flapple also has the same energy...

My bad! As the first set in that era was EXpedition Base Set, sometimes i get it mixed up with the actual Ex-era. Still, I wonder if they'll keep the card design consistent with the era associated with each gimmick, or if they'll try to make everything coherent with the current templates

With all these old mechanics returning, I hope we'll get to see Ex-era Crystal Pokémon making a comeback (even tough they weren't properly classified as a different kind of card from regular Pokémons, but still)

It looks like Slaking's attack name is missing XD It should be something along the lines of kicking around/routing.

This month's card was quite a challenge to design, both concept-wise and in regards to the layout/effects/illustration ^^" Nevertheless, I'm quite happy with the result, so I hope you guys enjoy! :D
