We still have B/W and X/Y in the queue (assuming B2/W2 are skipped), so we’re talking 7 to 10 years here. They probably will be released for Switch 4, and hopefully by then the team in charge of the D/P remakes will either have improved, been disbanded, or will be working on a different game.

Any Gold/Silver remake would have me throwing money at my Switch. If it‘s a 2.5D I don‘t even know what I‘d do. It would probably be the only game that would convince me to get a limited edition Switch or something like this if they really want to milk the player base.
